Do you like Space Magic?  Do you like your work to be shown in all the highlight reels and trailers?  Yeah, we get it.  Bungie is looking for a VFX Artist to work on our ever-expanding rewards content.  Rewards VFX includes content such as exotic weapons and armor, spawn effects, as well as our awesome emotes.  The ideal candidate brings a passion to learn advanced technical and artistic skills. They understand how to work effectively with a team and produce stunning in-game visual effects that support gameplay and the overall player experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with VFX Leads, Art Leads, and Design Leads to author effects assets that enhance gameplay and the player experience
• Use proprietary tools, Photoshop, and 3D packages to create effects that balance the visual goals of the project with the performance demands of the game engine
• Meet the quality bar established by the Art Director and Lead Artist
• Collaborate with other team members and Leads to efficiently and effectively contribute to meeting the team’s schedule and goals
• Help develop Destiny’s visual language through the craft of visual effects
• Participate in constructive critiques, and giving and receiving quality feedback

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Experience working as a VFX Artist on a shipped game title or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience with node-based shaders, particle FX, shader FX, post processes, etc.
• Understand the principles of real time visual effects such as color theory, visual design fundamentals, timing, content memory and performance
• Familiarity in Photoshop or equivalent, and 3D packages such as 3ds Max and Maya
• A portfolio or demo reel that demonstrates artistic and technical skills in real-time VFX, as well as a firm grasp of timing and scale
• Effective communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment
• A dedicated interest in games

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Programming or scripting experience in any language (C++ / Python / HLSL)
• Animation, 3D art, or tech art background
• Experience with Houdini, Embergen, Maya fluids tools, or Substance Designer
