About the Role

As a Developer Intern, you’ll work closely with experienced developers and product team members to contribute to real product features. Throughout your internship, you’ll contribute to meaningful projects while learning modern development practices, tools, and workflows. You’ll be supported by mentors who will help you develop both your technical abilities and professional skills.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in designing, coding, testing, and debugging software features.
• Use GenAI tools to help plan, generate, and test code.
• Pair-program with senior developers and participate in code reviews to learn best practices.
• Write and maintain automated tests with guidance from team members.
• Help investigate, reproduce, and resolve bugs under supervision.
• Participate in team rituals such as standups, demos, and retrospectives.
• Learn and apply modern development practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and monitoring.

What You Bring to the Team

• Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, PHP, or similar).
• Interest in learning development tools and workflows such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker.
• Curiosity about current industry trends in technology, performance, and software development practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teammates.
• Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset.

Location and Work Model

This role is based in the Greater Montreal Area. At AlayaCare, our hybrid model includes set in-office collaboration days, and it is expected that team members are present in the office on those days to foster connection, innovation, and teamwork.
