ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an innovative Director of Content Technology and Solutions Architecture to develop and implement new systems architecture that will meet business needs and capabilities. The role will bring “big picture” thought leadership while still being able to dive into the detail around the specific solutions and designs.  The content systems at Peloton are at a point of evolution and needing both skill sets and is critical to this role.  A successful Director of Content Technology and Solutions Architecture will be able to hit the ground running and adapt to the need and direction of the systems landscape with an outlook to enhance and improve 

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

  • Owns, builds and drives the technology and systems architecture for the content system landscape and technology partnering closely with the Senior Director of Content Business Solutions and Senior Director of Engineering and Development. 
  • Owns the overall solutions architecture vision, strategy and architectural roadmaps from a business, technology and data perspective, including 'as-is', 'to-be' and transitional states.  
  • Establishes and helps to enact architectural principles, policies and standards across the content systems technology and solutions 
  • Providing supervision and guidance to development teams when building out designs and implementing them 
  • Continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes as needed to the architecture based on the ROI and business drivers.  Company growth will be a fundamental driver that will need to be taken into consideration throughout the design and enhance of all solutions and technology 
  • Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have and informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented and offering solutions and mitigations 
  • This role will be responsible for bridging together the business requirements in line with the technical and ensuring that workflows translate into robust and sound technology and solution decision
    Data will form a fundamental part of this role bringing together disparate data repositories
  • Comprehensive knowledge of information technology with an extensive understanding of application development technologies and methodologies
  • Working and collaborating with a team of engineers will be vital in this role as it relates to the implementation of the technology and architecture designs
  • The role will be responsible for looking at enterprise technology and collaborating with other technology teams in Peloton to draw together alignment with policies, process and technology where possible 


  • YOU BRING TO PELOTON
  • 10+ years of backend software lead/architect experience, with 5 years of experience architecting and shipping software at scale
  • Extensive experience in thought leadership and design capabilities utilizing best in class technology
  • Significant experience in several of the following domains: SOA/microservices and event-driven architectures, databases, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS
  • Experience in designing software systems with security and privacy from ground up, including various data regulatory, compliance considerations
  • Track record of technical leadership via collaboration, mentorship, and leveling up teams
  • A passion for software architecture and motivation to stay current with the latest frameworks
  • Knowledge of coding/debugging abilities
  •  Significant experience working with cloud services and infrastructure.
  • Possess an agile mindset and embrace iterative design
