THE ROLE:

As the Director, Ecommerce Operations for AG1 Japan, you will be the driving force behind the operational excellence of our online store. You will be responsible for building and scaling our e-commerce operations, ensuring a seamless and localized experience for our Japanese customers. Your expertise in e-commerce operations, coupled with your leadership and strategic vision, will be crucial in establishing AG1 as a leading brand within the Japanese e-commerce landscape. You will work closely with our Growth and Operational Engineering team, in addition to our Marketing Team across the region to enable best in class CRM, Digital Marketing, and Customer Service and Operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ecommerce, technology, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for leveraging technology to drive business success. Finally, the role will initially require a very hands on approach as we have a very lean team in Japan/Asia. We are looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves and be in the trenches.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Develop and implement a robust operational strategy for the Japanese e-commerce market, aligned with AG1's overall goals and growth objectives.

• Lead and oversee e-commerce operations, including platform management, subscription management, and payment options for the Japan market.
• Continuously optimize operational processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Analyze key performance metrics and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Oversee the management and optimization of the Shopify Plus platform for Japan, ensuring a seamless and localized experience for Japanese customers.
• Manage the Japanese subscription app, optimizing the checkout process, bundle configurations, and translations.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution of e-commerce initiatives.
• Establish and manage relationships with key external partners, such as technology and Marketing. 

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Extensive experience in e-commerce operations leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in building and scaling online businesses.
• A strong understanding of both strategic planning and operational execution within the e-commerce landscape.
• Have experiences working on or conceptual understanding of tools such as, but not limited to Klaviyo, Salesforce, Shopify Plus, LINE and NetSuite. 
• Proven ability to build, inspire, and lead high-performing teams.
• Expertise in data analysis and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies to optimize performance.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges, coupled with strong decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Fluency in Japanese and English is required
• A flexible mindset and ability to deal with ambiguity that comes with a high-growth environment
