About the Position

We are looking for a Director, Events to lead the day-to-day operations and event logistics at Chase Center, Thrive City and offsite locations. In this role, you will lead the planning and execution of events Golden State Warriors (GSW) home games, concerts, GSW brand events, community events, large- and small-scale private events, hospitality events and concert VIP activations. This position will lead all front and back of house activities and support the logistical and functional needs of the Events department, GSW, promoters, internal departments, production companies, and service providers, among others. This position reports to the Senior Director, Events.

This is a full-time position based onsite in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead operations and personnel for events at Chase Center and Thrive City, including offsite hospitality and community events
  • Direct and oversee the workflow/processes for the Events team
  • Develop and communicate facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures with internal and external clients
  • Partner with Content & Programming and Private Event Sales teams to maximize revenue on all shows and private events booked throughout the venue
  • Partner with Content & Programming, Box Office, and promoters to develop on-sale CAD drawings
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures, checklists, and training manuals for areas of oversight to institute a culture of process and accountability
  • Lead site visits and prepare event proposals, estimates, budgets, floor plans, and other event details
  • Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships, Ticket Sales, Marketing, and other departments to ensure partner event day needs are met
  • Lead regular internal Event Production meetings to ensure plans for execution are aligned across all departments
  • Compile and communicate pre and post-event related information; Prepare and distribute event notes to appropriate departments, vendors, and others to ensure the necessarily levels of staffing coverage and overall event understanding; celebrate successes and identify areas of improvement
  • Ensure all required permits are secured for all events; maintain a close working relationship with San Francisco Fire Department and buildings departments
  • Collaborate with our union partners, as needed, for all concerts, live entertainment, and corporate events
  • Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive inquiries and complaints
  • Develop ongoing trainings for Events team (Managers, Coordinators, etc.) to ensure their growth and development
  • Participate in the development and administration of the Events budget; implement adjustments as necessary
  • Work with internal departments and external agencies to ensure life safety plans are executed and safety policies and procedures are being followed at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years planning and delivering large, high-profile events; experience in the hospitality industry with a focus on large corporate and hospitality events a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisor management experience with the ability to coach, mentor and motivate a diverse workforce; experience with unions a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD a plus
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, service and resolution skills
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, training and presentation skills
  • Ability to balance multiple projects at once in a fast-paced work environment

Time Commitment

  • Ability to work flexible and sometimes demanding schedules (including nights, weekend and holidays)

Compensation

  • $131,000 - 139,000 + Bonus
