THE ROLE
We are looking for a driven and highly experienced Director, S&OP to lead a robust demand planning and inventory management team for AG1. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for leading the weekly and monthly S&OP process, driving effective coordination between Finance, Marketing, Growth, and Operations to optimize supply chain performance. You will develop comprehensive demand planning strategies to optimize inventory levels, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive overall business growth. You will oversee the demand plan, inventory levels and be accountable for improved accuracy, ensuring that all global regions and key partners have the required inventory to meet our aggressive fast-paced global growth. Additionally, you will play an influential role in recommending and introducing analytics and planning tools to support the overall Planning and Financial teams.
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Planning & Inventory Management, this position will guide the demand plans, using appropriate statistical models, and incorporating business intelligence and forecast information from marketing, finance, advanced analytics, and other sources. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in demand forecasting, supply chain management, and cross-functional collaboration. As this position supports the global supply chain, you must be a ‘hands on’ leader who is solution oriented, collaborative and resourceful in shaping recommendations that will better position our demand, and set our business up for success as we scale.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Strategic Planning:
- Lead the development of demand forecasts and ensure optimal inventory levels across our global network.
- Develop scenario plans, identify risks, propose opportunities, and drive consensus, incorporating cross-functionally aligned decisions.
- Identify potential risks to the supply chain and develop mitigation plans.
- Proactively address issues related to demand and supply misalignment.
- Continuously improve forecast accuracy through evaluation of promotional activity, inventory changes, consumptions trends, customer type, geopolitical issues, global strategic initiatives, category trends, and media and advertising plans.
- Lead weekly meetings to assess inventory and forecasting for key partnerships.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Lead monthly forecast reviews with Marketing, Finance and Operations Teams to validate and adjust current forecasts, gaining full alignment with business owners and senior leadership.
- Ensure continuous conversation with the supply chain team to analyze changes in the demand forecast in order to help maintain inventory levels.
- Foster strong communication channels to ensure that relevant information is shared promptly across departments.
Process Optimization:
- Establish OKRs to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of S&OP processes in how our objectives roll up to organizational goals.
- Analyze performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Implement best practices and leverage technology to streamline planning and forecasting activities.
Forecasting & Analysis
- Recap and analyze actual sales results to plan and in-season sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis for senior audience.
- Provide regular monthly forecasts to key third parties (3PLs) so that they can plan and be held accountable to their SLA’s.
- Leverage advanced forecasting tools, software, and analytics to enhance demand planning accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies in demand planning.
Leadership:
- Lead and oversee a team of Demand and Inventory Planning, providing coaching and guidance to foster high performance.
- Guide and motivate the team to see future opportunities for growth and development.
- Help move our organization forward, moving away from manual execution to proactive, exception based tools and technology.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 10+ years of professional experience within the Demand Planning function, plus a strong understanding of the FP&A and Supply Chain functions of a business.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics highly preferred.
- Experience in NetSuite strongly preferred.
- Experience leading teams and a passion for developing people.
- Experience building complex financial models and planning tools from the ground up with a strong track record in implementing planning technology to enhance financial analysis and decision-making processes.
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to switch gears in a dynamic environment.
- Excited to be part of a new function in a startup environment and comfortable working in a remote setting.
- Strong time-management and people skills, flexibility, and multitasking ability.
- You are knowledgeable in all things MS Office and Google Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, matched with impeccable analytical skills.
- Ability to work closely with a leadership team.
- You have a no-compromises approach to the quality of your work and are a team player.
- Experience with consumer products in e-commerce, direct-to-consumer and/or CPG.

AG1 is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation & benefits packages. For this particular role, the base salary range is $141,500.00 - $175,500.00 and will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate’s level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role. Base salary is only one component of total compensation for this position. We provide a competitive mix of base salary, performance bonus, and stock option allocation for eligible roles.

Salary Information
