About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Echocardiographer to join our multidisciplinary team in Birmingham.
This is a key role focused on delivering high-quality, independent echocardiographic assessments. You’ll perform and interpret transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), including Global Longitudinal Strain (GLS), and produce accurate, immediate reports - working autonomously without cardiologist oversight.
You’ll work one day a week at our clinic in central Birmingham. This is a part-time employed position, not locum, so we’re seeking someone who’s excited to make a consistent, long-term weekly commitment and feels aligned to our mission.

Key responsibilities Conduct comprehensive transthoracic echocardiographic examinations in accordance with British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) standards. Independently interpret and report echocardiographic findings, ensuring timely delivery of results to clients and referring clinicians. Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to integrate echocardiographic findings into holistic health assessments. Participate in regular cardiology multidisciplinary team meetings. Liaise directly with our cardiologist where needed. Understand and follow our escalation protocols. Participate in quality assurance activities, including audit and peer review, to maintain high standards of practice. Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the training of junior staff or students as appropriate. What we are looking forBSE Level 2 Transthoracic Echocardiography Accreditation or equivalent, enabling independent reporting of echocardiographic studies without cardiologist review. More than two years experience post BSE level 2 accreditation. Proven experience in performing and interpreting a wide range of echocardiographic studies. Ability to perform Global Longitudinal Strain (GLS is essential). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to clients and colleagues.
