What We Do

The Epic Communications team advances the company’s narrative and represents Epic products and the company vision to external and internal audiences globally. We create positive relationships and engagement strategies with a wide range of audiences, including media, investors, influencers, and policymakers.

What You'll Do

As Editorial Writer, you’ll join the Epic Games Editorial team in keeping our players excited and informed about what’s happening in Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys. To do this, you’ll handle the intricate process behind getting public-facing web content from ideation to publication.

In this role, you will

  • Tell players what’s happening next in their favorite game, including a new Season of Fortnite Battle Royale or the next big update in LEGO Fortnite!
  • Research topics by browsing internal documentation and conversing with relevant experts
  • Ideate and request visual imagery for your content
  • Write the written portions of your content, keeping in mind your audience, SEO principles, and the intended goal of the content
  • Coordinate the approvals of the content so that there’s internal (and if necessary, external) agreement about how we’re communicating
  • Make your content visible to a global audience by using content management systems and making localization requests

What we're looking for

  • You have a BA or MS in communications or a related field
  • You have 3-5 years of editorial experience in the video games (or similar) industry
  • Past experience using a content management system
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Extremely high attention to detail
  • An ability to blend different writing styles, including instructional, explanatory, and fun!
  • Familiarity with what matters to gamers and consumers of real time 3D content

This role is open to multiple locations (including CA, NYC, & WA).

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

California Base Pay Range
$97,921$143,617 USD
Washington Base Pay Range
$92,045$135,000 USD
