THE POSITION

The Enterprise Risk Associate reporting to a Senior Enterprise Risk Manager will support and assist with the implementation of FanDuel’s Enterprise Risk framework and strategy. The Enterprise Risk Associate will need to understand the role of Risk in a highly regulated environment and be experienced in documenting risk management. The Enterprise Risk Associate will work with the Enterprise Risk Team and business on executing the annual risk assessment, reviewing policies and procedures, and documenting, designing, and implementing controls and risk mitigation plans, streamlining issues management. The Enterprise Risk Associate will need to possess technical risk management skills, including but not limited to engagement with and enhancement of enterprise risk management tools. 

THE GAME PLAN

This position will work with a fantastic team of Legal, Regulatory, Risk and Compliance professionals to work on the implementation and documentation of the enterprise risk management framework.  This role will:

  • Support the annual risk assessment through documentation, summarization and organization of key inputs and materials
  • Support the management of risk and execution of controls; review policies and procedures; and facilitate governance processes to create a robust risk and control environment
  • Provide enterprise risk management support in an evolving and increasingly complex regulatory environment across FanDuel
  • Have experience using an enterprise risk management tool to provide risk documentation, analytics and reporting
  • Leverage tooling (e.g., GRC tools, JIRA, Confluence, etc.) to track and manage risk activities, as well as compile period Issues reporting
  • Engage with all levels of the organization to assist the building out of an effective first line of defense culture with appropriate documentation, controls and oversight
  • Execute on appropriate process improvements to support an effective and efficient Enterprise Risk department
  • Build strong professional relationships with the leadership in the business
  • Provide value-adding support and assistance on enterprise risk management to all departments and stakeholders

Solid analytical, strategic, communication, interpersonal and writing skills are of paramount importance, as is a strong work ethic, commitment to being a team player, and an aptitude to learn quickly the nuances of a highly regulated technology and entertainment business. 

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Once hired, the Risk Associate may be required to obtain licenses from various jurisdictions in order to represent FanDuel before regulators in those jurisdictions
  • 1-3 years of total risk or compliance experience, preferably in consulting
  • A strong aptitude for documenting process, policies, and procedure, analytics and reporting
  • Experience writing risk and compliance policies and procedures and drafting executive summaries on business processes
  • Experience with enterprise risk management tools
  • Program or project management skills a plus
  • Passion to work hard in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • An exceptional team builder and team player
  • A self-starter with energy to follow-through and own the outcome

The applicable hourly range for this position is $28-$33, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.

Please note that the actual salary for this position may vary, as it is dependent on various factors including but not limited to experience, location, and market dynamics.
