Group Summary: The Merchandising Partnerships team focuses on the NBA & WNBA’s global relationships across the consumer products landscape. This includes partnerships in sporting goods, apparel, videogames, collectibles, digital products, hard goods, and other product categories. Key partners include Nike, 2K, Fanatics, New Era, Panini, Wilson, and many others. The Merchandising Partnerships team is also responsible for the league’s commerce efforts (e-commerce and brick & mortar) and our branded attractions business. Job Summary: This position provides executive administrative support to one Executive Vice President and two Senior Vice Presidents responsible for managing our Merchandising Partnerships businesses (Apparel and Non-Apparel) within the Global Partnerships department at the NBA. The position will provide a wide variety of administrative duties, lead the group’s hospitality needs, handle confidential information, and interact with external business partners and employees at all levels throughout the organization. Major Responsibilities: Manage schedules, calendars, travel, and expense management for the executives and ensure that complete and accurate information is available on all matters Lead the critical event (e.g. All-Star, Finals, Summer League, global games, NBA Draft) hospitality function for the executives and the broader Merchandising team Independently performs administrative work of a complex nature handling confidential information and interacting with VIP clients as well as employees at all levels of the organization globally Serves as liaison, responds to inquirers and internal and external client requests Completes expense reports in a timely and accurate fashion Manages tracking reports across all lines of business Ability to prioritize meetings by understanding urgency and criticality of business items and various stakeholders Expedites contract flow as well as deal memo, expense, and time-off approvals Maintains sub department documents (Hospitality invite lists, contract tracking chart, etc.) Manages partner-wide communication of key league announcements Drafts regular department reports and communications Provides project support to account teams who manage day-to-day partner relationships Primary liaison for all technology needs, regularly communicating with the IT department Draft, edit, prepare written communications for executives Prepares materials for both internal and external meetings Organizes industry news summaries and market research daily to keep executives up to date on current partner and prospect news Support in the development and execution of team offsites and other culture-building activities Required Education/Professional Experience: 1-3 years of experience with business administration, business operations, or project management in a fast-paced business environment Experience with marketing, consumer products, or licensing a plus. Bachelor's degree preferred Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes: Self-starter with exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to communicate with senior management in a confidential manner Able to clearly and succinctly synthesize and communicate ideas orally, in writing, and through visual presentations High energy individual with an ability to authentically connect with a wide range of people Proficiency in administering virtual meetings across numerous platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.) Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines while working independently or with a team Excels in a fast-paced environment Meticulous and detail-oriented! Excellent stakeholder management and ability to drive results!
