The Role

CAA is seeking an Executive based in Los Angeles for a dynamic, collaborative role within

the agency

’s Global TV Research, Insights & Analytics Department, focused on the expansion and implementation of data-driven insights systems across all areas of TV and streaming analytics. This candidate will partner closely with the current head of Global TV Research, Insights & Analytics to ensure

the agency

has cutting-edge, reliable, and actionable insights across scripted, non-scripted, news, sports, comedy stand-up, kids, international, and first-run syndicated programming. The candidate will be tasked with utilizing current data sources and systems to provide actionable, sharable outputs for a variety of uses by TV agents and executives, CAA leadership, and clients, as well as play a key leadership role in innovating, designing, auditing, and implementing new tools, systems, and processes. In addition to the head of Global TV Research, Insights & Analytics, the candidate will work closely with TV division leadership and agents, the CAA Data Analytics and Insights teams, and other divisions across the company to advance and diversify cutting-edge TV and streaming analytics to keep up with the ever-evolving ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will have • extensive experience with both linear and streaming analytics, and excel at innovating and designing high quality outputs and systems, collaborating effectively across a large organization, synthesizing complex data to analyze industry trends, and communicating efficiently and concisely with those outside the data and analytics field. Key

Responsibilities

• Partner with the head of Global TV Research, Insights & Analytics and TV division leadership to advance

the agency

’s strategy for monitoring TV industry trends, distilling complex information into clear and concise summaries tailored for each sub-department and the overall division. Perform television industry, content-specific, and market-specific research and analysis; assess industry trends, performance and competitive landscape

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents, clients and key industry players, including studios, networks, production companies, streaming platforms, and data vendors/providers. Innovate and iterate continuously on data strategy and any developed products/outputs to ensure TV business analytics are modern, relevant, contextual, easily digestible and actionable
• Analyze large amounts of information and data quickly and effectively to reduce complexity and communicate actionable insights and recommendations. Champion

the role

of analytics within the television business, working with the Technology and Data teams to drive adoption of data products, including educating and training staff to incorporate analytics into their work. Work closely with Data Analytics and Data Insights teams to develop product/dashboard requirements that meet the needs of the television department and provide ongoing feedback and validation of data to ensure that the most relevant and cutting-edge data and methodologies are being used to inform TV business decision-making. Serve as an industry expert, providing valuable insights and recommendations internally to senior leadership, agents and executives, and externally to clients, buyers, and other appropriate parties. Mentor and coach junior team members on proper research, insights, and analytics methodologies, data sources, and systems. Qualifications 8+ years of work • experience in the television industry at a major media company, agency, network, studio, or streaming platform. Broad and up-to-date knowledge of the fundamentals of the television business (key players, development process, industry evolution, etc.) Expert at multi-platform performance analysis across linear networks and streaming platforms, with a macro understanding of the larger business and revenue impacts across the content distribution and monetization lifecycle Hands-on expertise in all facets of Nielsen software systems (e.g., NPOWER, NNTV), measurement methodologies and evolving data systems.

• • Experience in social analytics a plus. Expert in Microsoft Excel, and high proficiency in data visualization tools such Power BI and Tableau; coding skills (e.g., SQL, Python, VBA) preferred • Experience in product and systems innovation and design, especially translating needs from business-to-analytics and analytics-to-business Prior experience creating and delivering high quality, impactful insights and analytics outputs for multiple stakeholders, including but not limited to decks, whitepapers, and editorials Strong graphical eye for design, with proven ability to employ data/information visualization, layouts and placement, colors, fonts, and other elements to produce beautiful data products/outputs Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate and build deep working relationships with a variety of personality types • Excellent written and oral presentation skills, particularly when simplifying the complex across a variety of audiences Strong creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and experience collaborating with both business end-users and data analytics and insights teams Preferred Skills Passion for the television/streaming ecosystem, with a forward-thinking, proactive approach to the evolution of data, analytics, and insights and how they can be leveraged to drive business High curiosity and love of learning Ability to think independently and creatively, looking at problems and situations with a 3D lens Highly collaborative and able to integrate and prioritize feedback across multiple stakeholder groups, responding efficiently in a fast-paced agency environment Precise attention to detail, yielding excellence in all deliverables Strong work ethic with a high level of responsiveness Ability to manage deadlines and priorities with a high level of responsibility and autonomy Location This role is based out of the Los Angeles office. Compensation The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $150,000 – $175,000 in Los Angeles, CA.
