Job Description

About the Position

The Executive Producer will set the vision and goals for the Golden State Valkyries studio team while helping support and expand the brand. This position provides leadership, direction and vision for all aspects of branding, content and storytelling while managing oversight on the day-to-day operations of the entire creative team. You will also be accountable for pursuing and managing relationships with internal client groups, as well as implementing new processes, technologies, and workflows.

This is a full-time position based onsite in Oakland, CA and San Francisco as needed. Travel is expected both within Northern California and for team initiatives otherwise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead team of designers, editors, videographers, delivering on creative needs for the organization
  • Drive the direction and development of GSV’s in-house content and creative strategy and execution across a variety of marketing touchpoints
  • Inspire the voice of the GSV brand across mediums
  • Design data driven work and partner with Analytics, Growth & Retention team members to deliver highly engaging content to targeted audience
  • Collaborate with freelancers, creative agencies and corporate partners to fulfill business objectives and stay on-brand
  • Help develop a content calendar, collaborate and communicate with all partners
  • Work in conjunction with other departments to create better workflows and practices
  • Communicate with directors to ensure technical and operational performance expectations are being met
  • Develop policies, standard operating procedures and training for all staff and broadcast processes
  • Manage and optimize performance of facilities, systems, technology and respective staff
  • Stay abreast of current trends related to technological advances in news operations, media production, content distribution, and anticipates future trends likely to have an impact on processes or organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of production experience in a professional media environment; sports and/or fitness production preferred; Minimum 2 years people management experience
  • Extensive experience recording, mixing, and editing cultural and news/talk programming for regional and national program distribution
  • Passion for creating experiences through the use of narrative in multiple mediums
  • Knowledge of building and constructing production facilities
  • Highly functional knowledge of all post production technologies including ingest/output of media, file formats and conversions, media distribution and quality control
  • Understanding of a collaborative production environment, including basic principles of a SAN, multi-client workstations and shared media workflow
  • Ability to effectively communicate, lead and collaborate with other editors, producers and contractors in creating and utilizing shared media assets
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills; ability to lead large cross functional teams and external partners
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with clients and peers at all levels throughout the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, service and resolution skills
  • Ability to balance multiple projects at once in a fast-paced work environment

Time Commitment

  • Ability to work extended hours as publishing deadlines approach

Physical Demands

  • Ability to carry and operate heavy camera equipment and related gear over long hours and, sometimes, long distances

Compensation

  • $128,000 - 136,000 + Bonus
