Overview

We’re looking for a highly detail-oriented and experienced strength and conditioning coach or personal trainer with a strong background in personalized fitness program design. The Fitness Programming Specialist will adapt the latest in exercise and performance science to create unique, effective, only-on-Tonal workouts and workout programs. This role will work closely with the curriculum team, content production team and on-camera coaches to create and uphold the Tonal programming standards of excellence. 

A great understanding of human performance and progression, experience working with diverse populations, and an ability to build influential relationships with multiple stakeholders are essential to producing the highest quality fitness programming for Tonal’s members and advancing Tonal as the leader in personalized strength training. 

What You Will Do

• Workout Programming (70-80%):

  • Develop fun, imaginative, evidence-based programs, and workouts in Tonal’s primary modalities including; strength and HIIT that showcase Tonal’s unique features and give our members noticeable, measurable results toward their fitness goals

  • Review programming submissions from Tonal’s on-camera coaches for effectiveness, member experience, cohesion, and upholding the “Tonal Way”

  • Collaborate with the on-camera coaches to co-design only-on-Tonal signature programming 

  • Innovate and develop new fitness programming modalities and validate with test cohorts and the performance innovation team to review member results and engagement data with relevant content & curriculum teams to incorporate feedback into future programming

• Additional Functions (20-30%)

  • Work with the Performance Innovation and Content teams to develop the movement library roadmap

  • Work with the Performance Innovation team to refine and further develop form feedback cues in line with scientific best practice

  • Contribute to the development and advancement of Performance Innovation and Content teams - any other reasonable tasks. 

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience training clients of diverse experience and athletic backgrounds

• Undergraduate degree in exercise science and or human performance-related subject

• NSCA CSCS or equivalent credential 

• Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and other project management software

• Experience with collaborating with and/or mentoring other coaches is strongly preferred
