The Food Service Attendant Cook) for the Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC) prepares high quality meals by utilizing various cooking techniques and methods that meet guests’ and the JRTC ‘s expectations. This role will ensure the quality and stability of products by complying with production guidelines and following standardized recipes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare high-quality meals and food items according to JRTC recipes.
- Ensure that food portions and food presentation meet JRTC standards.
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Check quality of ingredients and prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Cook food in various utensils or grillers.
- Check food while cooking to stir or turn.
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Assist with other Food & Beverage tasks as needed including but not limited to food prep, line prep, dining room operations, dishwashing, and concessions operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- At least one year of cooking experience required.
- Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler certification card.
- Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel, bend, and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and managers.
- Critical thinking and time management skills.
- Ability to operate industrial machinery and carry loads up to 50 lbs.
