POSITION SUMMARY:   MLB Network seeks a Network Analyst to join their IT team on a freelance basis. The scope of the role will be to work with IP network infrastructure, network management systems, wireless infrastructure and remote access systems. This is an on-site role and will be required to be on-site 100% of the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide IP network expertise in the maintenance and support of broadcast and office networks.
  • Implement and manage daily user network requests, hardware installation, and user connectivity.
  • Provide Tier-2 troubleshooting support working with the user support team and the operations staff to effectively manage and monitor all systems - including the preparation of design, as-built documentation and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide daily and/or weekly reports on the health, operational status, and usage of MLB Network’s networks (broadcast and back office).
  • Work with subject matter experts on networking and server projects to improve the end user experience.
  • Other such duties as required.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in network administration/support, IT support, or similar roles.
  • Must have experience with IP network connectivity and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Cisco Network environments with up-to-date skills in Cisco Nexus Switches, Cisco UCS, Layer 2 and Layer 3 TCP/IP Routing protocols.
  • Experience with wireless networks and remote access.
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with team members and outside user groups. Must be detail oriented, meticulous and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with Cisco ISE, AAA, RADIUS, TACACS and 802.1x.
  • Experience with common network services, SNMP, NTP, DHCP, multicast, etc.
  • Analyze network performance using various modern telemetry tools and provide root cause analysis and guidance in maintaining the highest level of performance.
  • Demonstrate the tact, diplomacy, decisiveness, and superior people skills required in the pressurized environment of live television.
  • Ability to effectively work and multitask in a rapid-paced 7/24/365 pressurized, live broadcast environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of customer service practices.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Needs to be highly professional, courteous, organized, and demonstrate initiative and an ability to complete multiple assignments in a timely manner.
  • Experience in the television, advertising, affiliate sales or production industries is a plus.
  • Possess the manual dexterity to effectively operate keyboard/mouse on computers, etc.
  • Possess the visual acuity needed to effectively deliver required work product.
  • Possess the auditory acuity needed to effectively deliver required work product.
  • Ability to walk, sit, stand, kneel, bend, twist, and turn for sufficient lengths of time in order to effectively deliver required work product.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

 

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree in IT / Technical Communications, Broadcast IT or equivalent related experience is preferred.

 

WORK CLASSIFICATION:

In-Office. This position requires the employee to perform their work from the office during the employee’s assigned schedule unless they are traveling for business.
