Web Infrastructure Development: Build and maintain user-facing web features, including player profiles, purchasing systems, and item/cosmetic management.
Steam Integration: Work with Steam’s APIs to enable purchasing and in-game currency transactions, ensuring secure and reliable integration.
E-commerce & Monetization Features: Design and implement backend systems for in-game cosmetics, premium memberships, and battle passes.
Twitch Extension Support: Maintain and enhance the backend services that power our Twitch extension & Twitch integration, ensuring smooth interaction between streamers, viewers, and in-game events. As well as developing integration for other live streaming platforms such as Youtube.
Scalable Systems: Develop and optimize systems capable of handling thousands of concurrent users across web and in-game platforms.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Unreal Engine developers, game designers, and product managers to ensure a cohesive user experience.
User Data & Security: Ensure all systems follow best practices for data privacy, security, and performance.
Frontend Expertise: Experience with SvelteKit or a willingness to learn it, as we use it for our Twitch extension UI and interactive overlays.
Backend Infrastructure: Strong understanding of Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects for handling event processing, real-time interactions, and scalable infrastructure.
Real-Time Systems: Experience with WebSockets and event-driven architectures, ensuring smooth game state synchronization between Twitch, the backend, and the game.
Scalability & Performance: Experience working with serverless environments (Cloudflare, AWS Lambda, or similar) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred).
Database & State Management: Proficiency with distributed data handling, ensuring reliable and efficient storage and retrieval of session-based user data.
Understanding of Steam API, authentication and payment systems for in-game purchases and monetization.
Familiarity with Twitch API, PubSub, EventSub, and chat command integrations, enabling seamless streamer-audience interactions.
Experience working on interactive streaming games, live-service games, or multiplayer virtual spaces.
Knowledge of real-time game economy systems and monetization workflows.
