Get to know the role

  • Job Title: Game Designer III 

  • Job Summary: This role will create content and features, ensuring your work aligns with business and design goals with unwavering attention to theme, quality, and the needs of our players. 

  • FLSA Classification (US Only): Exempt

What you’ll do

  • Be a game design champion constantly looking to evolve TPCi’s Expansions product line and ways to optimize the users’ experience. 

  • Develop and execute product plans for Pokémon Trading card game (TCG) products. 

  • Construct and edit game design presentations for communication within the Project Management team as well as internal stakeholders. 

  • Assist with Pokémon TCG card text templating to ensure clear and consistent standards. 

  • Contribute innovative and creative ideas to TPCi’s TCG Products. 

  • Review and provide editorial feedback on game design documents, proposals, and conceptual prototypes. 

  • Write product stories for Pokémon TCG products. 

  • Utilize user feedback into clear actionable items to improve products and design processes. 

  • Coordinate with and support other Game Design teams as necessary. 

  • Ensure that the final product quality meets the high expectations of TPCi’s Expansions brand. 

  • Proof Pokémon TCG products. 

  • Be extremely organized in the game design workflow from initial concept to final release and post-release support. 

               

What you’ll bring

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of related professional experience. 

  • Experience working on trading card games preferred. 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 

  • Understanding of TPCi brand, specifically Pokémon TCG, with a focus on Community and Organized Play. 

  • Extensive knowledge of Play! Pokémon events, tournaments, and community, or other similar programs. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to synthesize game-play data to improve the game as necessary. 

  • In-depth Game Design experience and knowledge, specifically as it relates to the Pokémon TCG. 

  • Proofing experience. 

  • Interest in all things gaming from mobile to tabletop and wider industry trends with a specific passion for crafting amazing gaming experiences for TCGs! 

  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple assignments, balance priorities, and meet deadlines. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 

Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between $95,650 - $127,000 per year. The full range is $95,650 - $172,250 per year. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
