Get Golfing CIO, a charity with a mission to make golf more accessible for all, is seeking an experienced Salesperson to join our team at Tadcaster Golf Club as a Golf and Venue Sales Manager. 

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a thriving and dynamic organisation which manages and operates 13 sites with 7,000 members and over 160,000 visitors each year.   

The successful candidate will be part of a £20m revenue company of over 400 people which reinvests profits from its operations into its venues, courses, the development of its people, and importantly, community oriented charitable initiatives local to its sites. 

Our model is to maximise revenue through memberships, golf days, events, functions, and F&B. We say that “our courses are for golfers while our clubhouses are for everyone”.

Role Purpose 

Tadcaster Golf Club is a picturesque venue located near Scarthingwell with a unique 18-hole course and recently renovated functions and events suite. 

The Golf & Venue Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth across both golf and event operations. This role combines strategic sales leadership with hands-on management of all functions and event bookings, ensuring an exceptional customer experience from initial inquiry through to post-event follow-up.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing sales strategies to increase bookings and profitability across private events, golf days, and memberships. The role involves proactively identifying new business opportunities, cultivating long-term partnerships, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, sponsors, and corporate partners.

The Golf & Venue Sales Manager will leverage their sales expertise and in-depth knowledge of the golf and hospitality industries to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs, while working closely with the General Manager and operations team to ensure seamless event and guest experiences. This position demands a results-driven professional with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality events and golfing experiences.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Proactively generate new leads and convert inquiries into confirmed bookings across events, golf days, and memberships.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of prospects through networking, outreach, and partnerships with local businesses and event planners.
  • Manage the end-to-end client journey, ensuring timely communication, accurate proposals, and seamless event handovers.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, customer satisfaction, and market trends, providing actionable insights to the General Manager.
  • Use CRM systems effectively to track leads, bookings, and revenue performance.
  • Support marketing initiatives, including promotions and campaigns designed to drive awareness and bookings.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to optimise customer experience and maximise upselling opportunities.
  • Represent Get Golfing’s values of inclusivity, sustainability, and community in all interactions.

Requirements

Knowledge 

  • Proven experience as a Sales Representative
  • Proven experience in revenue generation, event sales and achieving secondary sales 
  • Strong awareness and understanding for golf and ideally, golf course management
  • A passion for hospitality, the guest experience and growing a business 

Skills 

  • Strong leadership skills, with a track record of successfully managing and motivating sales and teams to deliver quality standards and achieve ambitious budgets 
  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills, particularly P&Ls 
  • Competence to influence site performance through effective P&L management  
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills 
  • An acute eye for detail with strong communication and organisational skills 
  • Ability to support, train and motivate colleagues, and drive accountability 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software and reports/reporting 
  • Strong evidence-based decision-making ability to manage teams and grow revenues

  • Proactive and results-oriented, with the ability to think strategically and act decisively 
  • Ability to work independently and make effective decisions 
  • Flexible schedule, ability to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as needed 
  • A passion for sales, people, and the ability to build and maintain relationships

  • The ability to manage time effectively and to prioritise actions 
  • Strong ability to convey important messages, often through effective story telling
