We're putting together a talented team to build the #1 training platform for Runners

We help everyday runners become outstanding by providing world-class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you're improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon. To date we have built iOS, Android and Apple watch apps that help people achieve their goals by coaching them through the full journey and syncing to their favourite fitness devices.

We’re growing extremely fast and in November 2023 closed a new £5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. We want to grow as fast as we can into the future and are looking for individuals who will help us get there. For more about our background and growth check out our Careers Page!

We’re now looking ahead to the future and the people who want to help us build and scale Runna. Our aim is to reach millions of subscribers in the next 5 years and be the go-to training platform for any runner. Now is a magical time to join, we're still small, and everyone makes a foundational difference.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Head of Growth, you’ll focus on optimising Runna’s app presence and driving user acquisition across key channels. Your role will involve managing App Store Optimisation (ASO) efforts and overseeing paid acquisition on Apple Search Ads. Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

App Store Optimisation (ASO)

  • Full ownership of App Store Optimisation for Runna on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store across all major markets.
  • Managing keyword and metadata optimisation, custom product pages, in-app events, and promotional content.
  • Conducting iterative testing using native app store testing capabilities.
  • Staying ahead of trends and updates in app store algorithms to maximise visibility and performance.

Paid User Acquisition - Apple Search Ads

  • Managing Runna’s paid acquisition campaigns on Apple Search Ads, optimising for scale and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with the Performance Marketing Lead to develop high-performing keyword strategies for multiple markets.
  • Monitoring campaign performance and conducting regular analysis to ensure budget efficiency and maximise ROI.
  • Supporting across other Paid UA channels, contributing to ideas and looking for opportunities to drive growth.

If you’re a data-driven individual, who is passionate about product, experimentation and optimisation, this role is for you!

Requirements

We’re looking for someone that loves…

  • Optimising - you’re constantly looking for opportunities to improve effectiveness, and excel in optimising key touch points within the user acquisition journey.
  • Experimenting - Running A/B tests excites you, whether it’s testing creative assets, ad targeting, or app store pages.
  • Collaborating & Communicating - You enjoy working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, engaging with creatives, developers and marketing team mates.
  • Analyzing Data - You’re passionate about diving into data to identify opportunities and refine strategies.

What experience we’re looking for

We care the most about you looking at the ‘We’re looking for someone that loves…’ section and thinking ‘Wow this role was made for me’. That said, we do need you to have 1.5+ years of proven experience in growth marketing, ideally with a focus on app user acquisition or ASO.

About you:

  • You are data and results-driven. You love to test, learn, iterate and repeat. You’re motivated by seeing the quantifiable impact of the team’s work
  • You have hands-on experience with Apple Search Ads or managing paid search app acquisition campaigns.
  • You have expertise in app analytics tools and understand the app user acquisition journey
  • You’re a “doer”; not just a “thinker”. You’re hands on and want to roll up your sleeves / get stuck in
  • You’re a problem-solver with a strategic mind
  • You’re organised, efficient, and can execute at pace
  • You (hopefully!) love running and you’re passionate about our mission to make running training effective, easy and enjoyable for everyone
  • You’re ideally London based (or able to work in person 2+ days per week), but we’ll be open to remote for exceptional people
