Position Description Within this per diem position the Head Coach of the Men’s Beach National Team will be responsible for coaching the Men’s Beach National Team, helping to develop individual players to compete at the sport’s highest levels. Manage the daily high-performance requirements of the national team players and staff within training and competition environments. The candidate will be responsible for guiding the team through multiple domestic camps, as well as creating individual training programs, in preparation for regional and international tournament competitions. The Beach National Team’s ultimate goal should be qualifying for and competing at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. Context of the Head Coach of the Beach National Team: Works to support the leaders of the ENT Department Supports the goals and initiatives of the ENT Program Prepares Beach National Team to perform at the highest level Contributes to the long-term vision and policy of the Federation Purpose of the Head Coach of the Beach National Team: Lead the National Team Camps for the Beach National Team Lead remote training opportunities and individual training programs Work the leadership of ENT on all program areas (i.e. including player identification/contracts, scheduling, session design/delivery, budgeting,) Work collaboratively with the ENT development managers on all program areas (i.e. player enhancement, education, scouting and program development) Contribute to the development of a strategic plan to accelerate the development of ENT programs and players Identify, support and develop resources required to fulfill the strategic requirements of the ENT. Primary Responsibilities Head Coach of the Beach National Team: Contribute directly to ENT Development Manager programing when required Support the creation and delivery of specialized coach education courses across ENT disciplines Manage per diem staff on the build up to and during training and competition Support club and player development at all levels of the game, including helping to facilitate competitive opportunities within each discipline at a local, regional and national level. Link with key partners and providers to raise awareness leading to player identification via soccer specific and non-soccer settings Support the creation and delivery of a talent identification matrix across disciplines Identify key providers for the delivery of presentations and/or coaching clinics to raise awareness and identify participants for ENT program Contribute to the other sporting ENT programs (projects, initiatives, calls, meetings, camps, courses, events, etc.) Communicate and interact with stakeholders from membership, media, donors, sponsors, etc., as assigned Build mutually beneficial relationships with Professional Clubs, DA, Non-DA Clubs, College and staff working within the game Assist with other program duties as assigned including, but not exclusive to, coaching other ENT National Teams out with your core area Tasks and Duties of the Head Coach of the Beach National Team: Lead and coach the Beach National Team at domestic, regional and international competitions Design and implement a Beach Soccer curriculum to create better players Lead the creation and delivery of a national team level talent identification matrix for Beach Soccer Collaborate with US Soccer’s Talent ID Dept. to integrate metrics allowing tracking of potential players (from the mainstream game) Promote, identify and aid the transition of 11 a side or Indoor players to national team level Beach Soccer players. Create a database of current Beach Soccer players (youth, adult, overseas and domestic). Work with clubs, leagues and coaches to release National Team players for international competition Support the creation and delivery of specialized coach education courses for Beach Soccer Manage staff and players during all Beach Soccer NT training sessions and competitions Create and implement a periodization model reflecting performance and development requirements of the Beach Soccer NT Design and implement player development plans inclusive of: individualized training plans for players covering technical, tactical and physical assessments Support the creation of better playing environments at a domestic level (i.e. club development and competitive non-NT opportunities) Produce clear and concise reports tracking Beach Soccer NT players. Create a database of current beach players (youth, adult, overseas and domestic) and potential 11 a side player to transition in to the FNT Evaluates and reports on the effectiveness of the program and monitor trends through internal/external and qualitative/quantitative research to make improvements as needed Assist with other ENT program duties as assigned Requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Sports Management, or a related discipline USSF “A” License or equivalent experience within Beach Soccer Experience in a High-Performance soccer environment (Senior Pro, Pro Youth, Elite Youth or National Teams) Strong leadership skills and ability to solve problems and execute decisions under pressure Desired Qualifications Proven history successfully managing players within a soccer environment Proven history of developing players Excellent organizational and leadership skills Proficient in computer with software such as: Microsoft Officer and Video Editing Strong verbal, written, in-person and presentation communication skills Excellent organizational, data collection, planning and leadership skills Heavy travel required Understanding of the soccer landscape in the US and passion for the sport and culture U.S Soccer is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, citizenship, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, genetic information, military status, political belief, or any other characteristic protected under the law.
