ABOUT YOUR ROLE 

As the Head of Business Systems you’ll lead a team of people who deliver and support services through our core business applications (Salesforce, Pardot, Workday HCM, Workday Fins and Atlassian).   

There is also a multitude of SaaS owned by various departments solving niche problems (think commissions platforms, Engineering Management, OKR etc.) which the right individual will be able to grasp the full potential of fully integrating and work with the wider IT team to take rest of the business on a journey to automate everything. 

Reporting into the VP of IT you will build upon the investments and work done to implement these platforms and create a genuinely world class architecture.   

 

WHO YOU ARE

  • A superb communicator, able to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels 
  • A strategic thinker and pragmatic problem solver, able to understand the outcomes that the business needs to see and work out the right order to do things 
  • You possess a growth mindset, you will see opportunities where others see problems and be able to navigate your team through them   
  • You understand the business processes that these systems support (sales pipeline management, order to cash, attracting and onboarding talent etc.) and can converse in those terms 
  • You don’t need any knowledge in or understanding of sports to succeed in this role, but if you happen to enjoy them, you’ll love it here 

 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Deep understanding of at least one of the applications we use, you will likely have held technical positions and have either progressed your way into a leadership role or are ready to make that jump. 
  • You will have a thorough understanding of how the APIs the platforms present can be used to help solve problems with systems integration. 
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture fundamentals and best practices. 
  • Thought leadership, you’ll be able to hit the ground running with a clear vision of how a highly connected back office can be a differentiator for businesses. 
  • You will have experience integrating platforms to automate business processes, either directly or through iPaaS.
  • Experience of Sarbanes Oxley highly advantageous but not essential. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Maintain and deliver upon a roadmap and strategy that meets the combined needs of your diverse sets of stakeholders.  
  • In parallel maintain a technical strategy for the individual platforms which will help us to mature compliance, environment management, deployment and testing capabilities. 
  • Conduct a strategic review of the architecture and capabilities, identifying where are they underutilised or not returning value. 
  • You will be accountable for the successful performance of Sarbanes Oxley controls 
  • You will be forward-thinking and monitor developing technologies in the domain.  Ensure we have the right foundations in place to take advantage of the massive investments being made in generative AI by companies like Salesforce and Workday. 
  • Manage and develop your team, ensure all staff members have clear goals, objectives and performance reviews. 
  • Act as a subject matter expert in any M&A integration activity that may be required.

HOW WE WORK

We have adapted a forward-thinking ‘Ways of Working’ framework, which sets out (amongst other things) the opportunities for Geniuses to work flexibly and on working holidays. Whilst Technology at Genius are remote first, for this role most of your stakeholders are in departments who spend 2-3 days a week in the London office, and you will need to be able to collaborate with them in person as and when required.  Occasional international travel may be required

Please note that the actual salary for this position may vary, as it is dependent on various factors including but not limited to experience, location, and market dynamics.
