This position will be a key advisor to the President of the BAL and will partner closely with the Head of League Productions, and Head of League Operations on the overall development of the BAL. Primary areas of advisement for this role will be league expansion, basketball & business strategy, operations, data & analytics, player development, player talent identification, and government/sporting bodies and player relationship-management. This role will play a key strategic link between the BAL, NBA Core as well as NBA Leagues.
Advise the President of the BAL on league basketball strategy, operational model, development, and continued expansion in various markets.
Manage relationships with government bodies, ministries of sport and other stakeholders critical to the development of the BAL.
Work closely with Head of League Operations on developing and executing an effective player, coach and referee talent-identification strategy across the BAL, G League NBA, and European basketball clubs, that meets BAL talent OKR’s over time.
Contribute to creating a culture of innovation, transparency, and adaptability to support growing the BAL’s business, reputation, and on-court product.
Contribute to shaping a positive perception of the BAL and maximize league’s credibility across all constituencies including fans, media, and partners.
Develop, implement, and monitor processes and systems that optimize the BAL.
Develop and sustain an analytically based operating model and create a broader vision for the league’s future.
Build trusted relationships with internal and external BAL stakeholders.

Multi-lingual required, English a must, French or Arabic, a plus.
Minimum of 12 years of related basketball, or sports experience, ideally working in or around the professional or collegiate ranks (NBA, Euro League, FIBA, NCAA, etc.)
Experienced leader with global exposure and successful track record of managing sports leagues or player development.
Experience working in a highly matrixed global organization.
Prior budget management experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree
Master's degree – preferred.
