About Wheelbase Cafe

Wheelbase is a software platform that powers the mobility markets.  Whether entrepreneurs offer ride sharing, taxi operator services short-term and long-term rentals, we view hospitality and technology as deeply integrated. Pros from around the world, who manage and operate fleets, want a place to gather, to come and join our courses to learn how to operate, scale and expand their autonomous fleet operations.  We are building for them an exciting, brick-and-mortar facility in Austin that will foster community, host events and webinars, provide immersive instructional courses, and a showroom that gives them access to touch and feel the latest tech in the autonomous mobility space.  We will add to the Cafe, Tesla’s Optimus Prime Robot to showcase the future of robotics, AI mixed with our unique blend of hospitality as we deliver an unparalleled customer experience. We don't just show cars and software and pour coffee; we build the infrastructure for the future of autonomous mobility.

About the Role: 

Wheelbase is completely reimagining the modern showroom and cafe experience. We are vertically integrating the mobility industry—with software, insurance and fleet purchasing for entrepreneurs who seek to build their own mobility business.   We are building a showroom in Austin to highlight the company’s solutions via a showroom/cafe.  We will scale this vision globally.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Global Expansion: Open a new Wheelbase Cafe location in Austin and drive our physical footprint expansion to other markets as we lay out our growth plans.
  • Operational Scale: Build the foundational playbooks, systems, and processes required to scale our cafe concept.
  • Brick-and-Mortar Execution: Lead, hire, and inspire teams to run and operate flawless, high-throughput showroom activity with a cafe function.
  • Financial Rigor: Demonstrate strong hospitality acumen by deeply understanding labor costs and unit economics.
  • Founder Mindset: Bring your startup experience and your passion to innovate to navigate the exciting world that we are creating.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Track Record: Required experience leading and managing premium cafe, showroom, or QSR operations.
  • Industry Background: A history of success in fast-growing brands, specialty cafe chains, or venture-backed companies.
  • Tolerance for fast-paced environments: You thrive in fast-paced, high-autonomy environments. You love building and you have a heart for serving guests.

Expectations & Compensation

  • Location: Strict in-person presence in Austin.
  • Travel: Some travel is required to launch new cafe locations globally.
  • Base Salary: $90,000 - $130,000
  • Equity: 0.01% - 0.10%
