About This Role

iRhythm is currently seeking an experienced, motivated Health Economics Outcome Research (HEOR) - Market Director.  The HEOR Program Director will primarily support the clinical, economic, humanistic outcomes and real-world evidence (RWE) information needs of iRhythm’s health system and payer customers. Additional support will be available to cardiovascular thought leaders (e.g. Electrophysiologists), as well as, internal colleagues requiring training, strategic or scientific support. The HEOR Market Director is responsible for increasing the scientific understanding of the current and potential role of our products in optimizing the detection of arrhythmias and other future disease states. This individual will focus on key decision-makers within health systems, key government and commercial payers.  Primary contacts internally are the regional/national sales leadership teams, clinical research, payer relations and corporate strategy.  External customer stakeholders engaged are population health leaders, physician leaders, administrators, medical policy, access and reimbursement within targeted accounts. The majority of clinical/scientific focus will be on supporting the value proposition to increase penetration in the US market and the evidence generation / dissemination roadmap. Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Communicate, generate, disseminate and educate on healthcare economic information, outcomes research data and health related quality-of-life for all relevant iRhythm services. Serve as primary point of contact accountable to delivering clinical, economic, and humanistic value evidence of the iRhythm service platform.
  • Collaborate with the sales/payer/customer experience teams to ensure all plans incorporate the account-specific HEOR strategy to deliver HCEI uniformly across all assigned customer-facing groups.
  • Establish strong teamwork with sales and other cross-functional teams to effectively meet customer needs through a coordinated account-based approach and to specifically support areas of health outcomes, real-world evidence (RWE), and scientific collaborations within those accounts. Establish scientific relationships with customer stakeholders, including senior leaders and executives (C-suite).
  • Lead implementation of health economics, outcomes, and disease management resources and initiatives with customers and accounts. Accountable for delivering and/or coordinating presentation of all HCEI to support assigned accounts.
  • Responsible to convey proactive and reactive HCEI to executive decision-makers, external scientific experts, and relevant business influencers to inform access and reimbursement decisions.
  • Collaborate with Health System HEOR Liaisons or population health leaders as necessary to address customer needs related to population health management and quadruple aim.
  • Provide support to sales team during Request for Proposals and in the generation of pilot demonstrations of the iRhythm services for customers.
  • Provide timely clinical, economic, and scientific product updates proactively or in response to unsolicited requests. Assures that HEOR and RWE customer facing outputs meet quality, regulatory and promotional standards
  • Develop and implement Quality Improvement Projects with targeted iRhythm customer segmentations to improve clinical and scientific insights.
  • Work closely with clinical research and medical affairs to ensure a consistent clinical and economic value proposition across the iRhythm product portfolio 
  • Provides insights from external customers to clinical teams to ensure strategies and tactics are robust in filling key evidence gaps from a payer and health system perspective. Establish and maintain research and other collaborations with key external payer decision makers and influencers as needed.
  • Provide training for iRhythm account specific leadership / champions on HEOR / RWE or value proposition tools and help to identify unmet needs or strategic roadmaps whereby evidence can assist in product differentiation and/or access for the iRhythm service platform.
  • Provide feedback and competitive intelligence to clinical research, market access, marketing and sales on the areas of interest in & involvement of potential future competitors
  • Represent iRhythm Technologies at national clinical, managed markets, HEOR and RWE associated meetings.
  • Meeting with assigned target iRhythm customers (payor/provider) at minimum of 100 customer interactions per calendar year

 About you:

  • Advanced degree (M.D, Ph.D. or Pharm.D. with M.S. (or M.P.H., or M.B.A.) or Master’s degree in a healthcare discipline plus MBA, MPH or MHA preferred
  • Experience in health services research, biological science, public health, economics, marketing, managed care scientific liaison, clinical research, academic position or pharmacy
  • Broad experience in the U.S. healthcare delivery industry (practice, access, research and reimbursement)
  • Significant experience in health economics, health services research, outcomes research, and/or related field
  • Experience working in Tableau, Salesforce, and other data capture repositories
  • Understanding of value demonstration and value proposition resource utilization, preferably in diagnostics or cardiology
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Robust aptitude to gain a strong relationship internal colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Exhibit a positive solutions-based perspective
  • Advanced technical and documentation skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, communication and time management skills
  • History of leading cross-functional partnerships and supporting successful projects
  • Previous authorship in peer-reviewed journals preferred
  • Willingness to travel (up to 65% of the time).

Estimated Pay Range
$188,000$276,000 USD
