Williams Heritage is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design & Engineering Specialist to join our team dedicated to the design, recommissioning, and operation of historic Formula 1 cars. This role offers a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of motorsport history and modern engineering, ensuring our heritage vehicles remain authentic and operational to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and engineer components and assemblies for heritage F1 cars, ensuring alignment with the original era specifications.
- Produce schemes, detailed designs, and manufacturing drawings for assembly and installation.
- Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and car build departments to assess design requirements and support recommissioning efforts.
- Respond to build and manufacturing queries, resolve quality issues, and provide documentation to support assembly and car build.
- Maintain and develop the heritage engineering database using archive materials and operational documentation.
- Communicate effectively across the heritage department and liaise with suppliers and clients.
- Mentor and support the heritage placement student.
- Assist in the preparation, build, and servicing of F1 cars, subcomponents, and pit equipment to Williams standards.
- Ensure all heritage assets, including cars, equipment, and workshop spaces, are maintained and presented to an elite standard for clients, sponsors, and VIP visitors.
