The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.
LA28, the organizers for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, is on a mission to create an unparalleled Games experience for athletes, fans, partners, our community and our people. The 2028 Olympics and Paralympics will represent LA and leverage the strength of our community’s diversity and creativity as we collectively work to design a Games that we all want to be a part of. We do this by focusing on people and by inviting everyone into the story of the LA28 Games.
The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.
The 2025 LA28 Internship Program gives current and recent undergraduate students the opportunity to contribute hands-on, meaningful work to crucial planning stages for the 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games. Interns will be placed in a specific functional area, directly supporting the day-to-day work and long-term projects of the team. In addition, interns will participate in unique roundtables, community service, and research projects as a cohort to deepen understanding of the organization, our mission, and key skillsets to pursue a future field of their choice. This is a paid, 10-week, 30-hour-a-week program, in person at our Los Angeles Headquarters.
The Games Operations & Delivery division at LA28 leads the decision making for the logistics, services, infrastructure, energy supply/distribution and Field of Play (FOP) for each venue and is looking for interns in the following functional areas (FAs): Event Management, Energy, Venue Infrastructure, and Sport.
Interns on the Games Operations & Delivery team are anticipated to develop skills relating to the functional area where they are assigned. Applicants will be considered for all four FAs listed but will be selected based on relevant experiences and skillsets.

The Games Operations & Delivery team is looking for an intern in each of the following areas: Event Management, Energy, Venue Infrastructure, and Sport. If you are interested in multiple areas, we kindly request applicants to rank their choices and provide include an explanation within their application.
Event Management: The Event Management team is responsible for leading the integrated event operational planning at the venue level for all competition and training venues and some major non-competition venues. The group is also responsible for managing and coordinating the negotiation of venue agreements, the collation and organization of venue-related documentation and data, and the maintenance of strong working relationships with all venue partners. The ideal candidate has a background in data analysis, project management, and event operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Energy: The Energy Team is responsible for ensuring the end-to-end delivery of power to all Games venues and facilities. The Energy Team coordinates with other LA28 functional areas, external utility service providers, government organizations, venue owners and temporary power providers to ensure the successful delivery of electrical services and operations to power all Games operational sites. The ideal candidate has a background in electrical engineering, construction management, and/or project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Venue Infrastructure: The Venue Infrastructure team is responsible for ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of all venue infrastructure and venue overlay for the staging of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games – creating the optimal environment for athlete performance, fan engagement, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has a background in engineering, construction management, and/or project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Sport: LA28’s Sport team is responsible for insuring all Olympic and Paralympic sports are delivered within the International Sport Federations’ (IFs) requirements while providing world-class services that enable athletes to perform at their best. Sport collaborates internally across departments (ex: Venue Management, Venue Infrastructure, Government Relations, Ticketing) and externally with key stakeholders (ex: IOC/IPC, IFs, OBS, NGBs) to advance planning on deliverables such as the competition schedule, testing and readiness, and workforce planning. Athletes, coaches, or other sport enthusiasts in Olympic or Paralympic Sport(s) are encouraged to apply.

Interns can expect an hourly rate of $18.00 per hour and will be scheduled to work a 30-hour week. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
