The Workplace Experience Team (WE) at Riot is just that - Rioters' experience in the workplace. We are a diverse group of disciplines focused on how Rioters engage with our workplace. This includes Physical Security for our safety; Facilities Operations for our buildings and maintenance; Food and Events programs for daily engagement; Media Systems for our collaboration, presentations, and entertainment; and Occupancy Planning to help us understand how we occupy our world and ways to improve it.

As an Internal Events Producer on the Workplace Experience team, you will be hands on enabling and supporting large scale media based events and presentations, with a focus on the technical capabilities. This includes, but is not limited to, operating audio boards, broadcast video switchers, streaming encoders, operating cameras, lighting boards, talent handling, defining the technical production team day of events and more. With critical events live streaming constantly, you are supporting the preventative maintenance, and software updates for equipment in large scale events spaces globally. You will work to develop what the future of communication, collaboration, and presentation looks like at Riot. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in technical event production, possess strong knowledge of event planning and equipment, and think creatively about solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Internal Events Manager to support the design and implementation of technical solutions related to Riot Games’ internal technical event production. 
  • Maintain studio control room and podcast room (TriCaster, SoftTron, Audio Board, Lighting Boards, Teleprompter, Comms Gear etc.) 
  • Schedule crew including Technical Director, Audio, and Engineers to work live events, based on budget, availability of internal employees, and leadership approval 
  • Schedule and oversee production programs, call times, rehearsals, and tech checks based on incoming content and programming requests 
  • Create and Document clear procedures for technical production including but not limited to, power on/off cycles, networking, troubleshooting, streaming, recording and broadcasting. This includes templates and checklists for each working station in the studio and control room based on use case. 
  • Produce live and pre-recorded content out of studio for incoming requests/bookings, including podcast programming 
  • Research, recommend, and support the implementation of new/emergent technologies and improvements for studio equipment in collaboration with Internal Events Manager and A/V team
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders to provide outstanding customer service throughout the entire event process 
  • Gather event requirements, objectives, and details to ensure successful event set up, rehearsals, execution and strike 
  • Completion of projects and tasks assigned by, or coordinated with the Internal Events Manager

Required Qualifications: 

 Bachelor’s degree in broadcast engineering or other relevant major. Equivalent studio and production work experience may be substituted 

  • 3-5+ years of experience in technical event production and planning 
  • Experience as a studio engineer or technical director with live stream and broadcast production flows
  • Industry certification and/or hardware/software experience (i.e., Dante, Video Switchers, NDI) 
  • Deep understanding of current Audio, Video, and NDI Protocols 
  • Knowledge of stream encode/decode, and network storage 
  • Knowledge of Technical Event Production Equipment and hybrid environments 
  • Experience with set up and execution of Podcast programming 
  • Strong skills in root cause analysis, organization, troubleshooting live stream and studio equipment points of failure 
  • Ability to work flexible production schedules based on live programming 
  • Ability to provide remote support when needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to frame issues clearly 
  • Experience with file-based workflows and knowledge of enterprise media asset management systems
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
