Job Description

Are you passionate about advertising technologies and excited to help drive innovation in the sports media industries? Genius Sports is a leader in connecting sports, brands, and agencies through cutting-edge, data-driven solutions. Join our dynamic Media Operations team at Genius Sports, where we help brands and publishers engage and monetize sports fans with highly personalized campaigns and content.

We are looking for a highly organized, proactive and detail-oriented Junior Ad Operations Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity to jumpstart your career in the rapidly evolving and growing field of ad tech, a space that demands flexibility and fresh thinking. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment where innovation is constant. In this crucial role, you'll provide hands-on support to ensure our paid media campaigns are set up and delivered flawlessly, helping our team achieve their goals.

Who is this role for?

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is eager to launch their career in ad tech. If you are passionate about digital marketing, enjoy solving puzzles, and have a love for learning new technologies, we encourage you to apply. We're looking for a proactive self-starter who can take ownership of challenges and thrive in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment. If you're ready to build foundational skills and grow with a leading company, this is the perfect role for you. We value potential and a can-do attitude more than a long resume

Responsibilities

  • Campaign Trafficking & Setup: Implement and launch paid media campaigns across various media platforms (e.g., DSPs, Search or Social Platforms) and Ad Servers. This includes uploading creative assets, configuring targeting, and setting up content schedules.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of defense for technical issues. Investigate and resolve common problems related to creative tags, tracking pixels, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Quality Assurance (QA): Perform rigorous testing of ad creatives, campaign links and tracking pixels to ensure they are functioning correctly before launch, meeting all technical specifications.
  • Data & Reporting Support: Assist in compiling campaign performance data from different sources into comprehensive reports and dashboards for analysis.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain meticulous campaign documentation, ensure consistent naming conventions, and assist with data reconciliation and vendor communication.
  • Client Support: Assist clients with onboarding and providing personalized support. You'll be a key point of contact, helping them with questions and guiding them on how to best utilize our solutions.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in digital marketing and programmatic advertising, sharing insights with both clients and the internal team. This ensures we are always providing cutting-edge support.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proactive Problem-Solving & Autonomy: The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes ownership of challenges, with a drive to figure things out. This candidate can assess a situation, identify which issues they can solve on their own, and tackle them, while also knowing when to escalate more complex challenges to the team.
  • Detail-Oriented: An exceptional eye for detail is essential to prevent errors that can impact campaign performance and data integrity.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to methodically investigate issues, identify the root cause, and propose logical solutions.
  • Basic Digital Marketing Fundamentals: A foundational understanding of paid media channels, such as programmatic, search and social advertising, and key metrics (e.g., CPM, CPC, CTR).
  • Proficiency with Spreadsheets: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data manipulation, analysis, and organization.

Desired Knowledge & Background

  • Coursework or Experience: A degree or coursework in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field is a plus. Prior experience or internships in digital marketing, e-commerce, or an office environment are also beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Ad Platforms: Hands-on experience with media platforms like Google Marketing Platform (GA, GTM, CM360, DV360, Ads), Meta Ads Manager, The Trade Desk, or others is a big advantage (even from personal projects or university assignments).
  • Great Communicator: The ability to communicate information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical team members and collaborators.
  • Technical Aptitude: An open interest in and aptitude for learning new technologies and software platforms.
