Job Description

About BLAST

BLAST is a leading global esports entertainment company, creating premium live events, world-class broadcast products, and innovative digital experiences. With strong foundations in Europe and ambitious growth plans in North America, we are expanding our presence in New York City to drive strategic initiatives, partnerships, and long-term value creation.

The Role

We’re looking for a commercially minded Junior Legal Counsel to support our Legal Director across a high volume of day‑to‑day contracts and company secretarial matters. You’ll keep deals moving, improve templates and processes, and be a trusted point of contact for colleagues across Commercial, Ecosystems & Live as well as Finance and HR. This is a great opportunity for a junior Legal Counsel to build a broad in‑house foundation in esports, media and live events.

Requirements

  • Law degree (e.g., LLB, GDL, cand.jur., cand.merc.jur.) with approximately 1–3 years of relevant experience in an in-house legal team,  law firm or other legal role;.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft, review and negotiate standard commercial agreements with clear, pragmatic advice.
  • Exposure to media/entertainment, sports or events contracting preferred; interest in esports/gaming a plus.
  • Familiarity with supplier procurement, data protection and basic IP concepts.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail; comfortable managing a high‑volume workload with competing deadlines.
  • Confident communicator who can simplify legal issues and build trust with non‑legal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with productivity tools and e‑signature platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue contracts: Review, draft and negotiate under supervision (e.g., publisher/sponsorship, media rights, content/distribution licences, event hosting terms, talent/appearance releases, merch collaborations, NDAs).
  • Ecosystems & Live: Draft and negotiate vendor/supplier agreements for events and production (venues, staging/AV, travel/logistics, freelancers/contractors), plus MSAs and statements of work where applicable.
  • NDAs & templates: Own the NDA pipeline; maintain and improve contract templates to reflect BLAST’s best practices
  • Company secretarial: Assist with company-wide filings with authorities (e.g., Companies House and HMRC in the UK, Erhvervsstyrelsen and Danish Tax Authorities in Denmark), including confirmation statements, director changes, share issuances, and option filings, in coordination with wider BLAST departments.
  • IP & brand support: Triage and assist on basic IP and brand matters (trade mark watches, usage guidelines), escalating as needed.
  • Contract operations: Manage intake/triage, approvals, e‑signature and filing; keep our contract records tidy and searchable.
  • Training & enablement: Share practical, bite‑size guidance for non‑legal teams and contribute to our internal knowledge base.

What success looks like

  • Fast, accurate turnaround on standard contracts using templates and playbooks.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction and fewer bottlenecks for commercial and events teams.
  • Clean contract records and on‑time filings with authorities.
  • Visible contributions to improved templates, guidance notes and processes.
