The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.
LA28, the organizers for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, is on a mission to create an unparalleled Games experience for athletes, fans, partners, our community and our people. Our vision is to collectively create what’s next through sport, community and the power of our differences.
The 2028 Olympics and Paralympics will represent LA and leverage the strength of our community’s uniqueness and creativity as we collectively work to design a Games that we all want to be a part of. We do this by focusing on people and by inviting everyone into the story of the LA28 Games.
The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.
Program
The LA28 Olympian/Paralympian Fellowship Program is a year-long opportunity featuring two six-month rotations across LA28’s operational teams. Successful candidates will complete one rotation from July to December 2025 and another from January to June 2026. Assignments will be determined based on interviews and the applicant pool. Fellows will gain valuable work experience, expand their networks, and provide feedback throughout the program.
Since its launch in 2021, the program has supported 34 participants and graduates. These Athlete Fellows have represented 13 countries and competed in 18 sports, collectively earning 25 Olympic and Paralympic medals across 15 editions of the Games.
Salary and Benefits
Fellows will receive a salary and benefits for their one-year commitment: $67,000.00

Accessibility
The Accessibility Functional Area for LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the Games are inclusive and accessible to athletes, spectators, workforce, and other major stakeholders with various abilities, by embedding accessibility into every stage of planning, delivery, and legacy. This includes designing accessible venues, transportation, and digital platforms; providing assistive services; training staff and volunteers; and collaborating with experts and advocacy groups. During Games-time, the focus shifts to operational readiness, ensuring seamless mobility, inclusive guest experiences, and accessible emergency protocols. Beyond the Games, the Accessibility FA drives long-term improvements in urban infrastructure, policy, and inclusive sports participation, leaving a lasting legacy of accessibility in the host city and future events.
Event Management
The Event Management team is responsible for leading the integrated event operational planning at the venue level for all competition and training venues and some major non-competition venues. The group is also responsible for managing and coordinating the negotiation of venue agreements, the collation and organization of venue-related documentation and data, and the maintenance of strong working relationships with all venue partners. At Games Time, the Event Management team leads and manages the event teams at venues, event delivery, venue communication, and venue issue resolution.
Media Operations (Broadcast & Press)
LA28’s Media Team consists of the Broadcast Integration (BRS) and Press Operations (PRS) functional areas working together as one team to maximize the delivery of services to media stakeholders, who are critical to the storytelling of the games. We coordinate closely with the Olympic Broadcasting Service (OBC) and the IOC to serve the Media Rights Holders and Press stakeholders, collaborating cross0functinoally with LA28 service functional areas to deliver the appropriate levels of service.
National Committee Services (NCS)
NCS facilitates the relationships and planning between the 206 National Olympic Committees (NOC) and 183 National Paralympic Committees (NPC) and LA28. A truly global and cross-functional team, NCS serves as a key channel for communication, education, facilitation, and coordination to help all NOCs and NPCs plan for the LA28 Games. What are they planning for? NOCs and NPCS are responsible for the Games experience for all their delegation members outside of the field of play. An NOC or NPC delegations are largely made up of athletes and team officials (coaches, technical personal, caddies, grooms, guides, etc.); however, they also are responsible for all other official delegation members such as support staff, training partners, horse owners, athlete chaperones, dignitaries, and guests. As a result, NCS is a key main point of contact and facilitator of pre-Games preparation and planning supporting the definition of service levels, hosting NOC/NPC visits, delivering seminars and workshops, as well other key programs required to support the NOCs, NPCs, AND LA28 Functional Areas in ensuring LA28 is the best one yet!
Sport
LA28’s Sport team is responsible for insuring all Olympic and Paralympic sports are delivered within the IF requirements while providing world-class services that enable athletes to perform at their best. Sport sits within Game Operations and collaborates internally across departments (ex: Venue Management, Venue Infrastructure, Government Relations, Ticketing) and externally with key stakeholders (ex: IOC/IPC, IFs, OBS, NGBs) to advance planning on deliverables such as the competition schedule, testing and readiness, and workforce planning.
Venue Infrastructure
The Venue Infrastructure team is responsible for ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of all venue infrastructure and overlay for the staging of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games – creating the optimal environment for athlete performance, fan engagement, and operational efficiency.
Villages Management
Villages Management (VIL) is responsible for the planning, management, and operation of the Olympic and Paralympic Village as well as Satellite Villages. Villages Management works alongside both external partners (such as UCLA) and a wide range of other internal functional areas with the primary goal to deliver the best Village experience for all athletes, team officials, and stakeholders.
Government Relations
The Government Relations team advocates for policies to enable a successful 2028 Games through Federal, State, and Local Governments. Stakeholders range from the City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department to U.S. Embassies around the world and consulates for numerous international governments. The team serves the entire LA28 organization by working to secure Federal, State, and local resources and builds partnerships to ensure we leave a positive legacy for Los Angeles, the region, and beyond.
Impact/Community Relations
Impact/Community Relations is responsible for developing and delivering strategic plans and programs tied to the organization's social impact commitments in youth sports and economic empowerment in the greater Los Angeles region. Within economic empowerment, the athlete fellow will support programming around workforce development. Additionally, the impact/community relations team is tasked with developing community outreach engagements with key stakeholders in support of Games planning and operations, marketing, transportation, ticketing and security.
Games & Delivery: Project Management
The Planning & Programs team manages the LA28 consolidated schedule, which is the single source of truth for what work needs to be done to deliver the games. The team acts as a hub for all program management support to LA28 executives, departments, teams, functional areas and individuals to help them structure their work to drive outcomes necessary to deliver the games. They deliver unambiguous reporting on the organization’s progress against their plans and owns systems to track risks, issues, and cross functional scheduling impacts. They maintain an open line of communications with the IOC and IPC to synchronize change controls and schedule updates. The Planning & Programs Team is service oriented and people facing as they work with every team across the organization. They also dive deep into data, systems, and processes.
Sustainability
The Sustainability team is responsible for working across the organization to deliver a more environmentally sustainable Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028. The team is leading a collaborative effort to develop and execute LA28’s sustainability strategy, which accounts for operational programs and initiatives that help reduce the Games’ footprint across areas including carbon, energy, water, and waste. This function also works closely with LA28’s commercial and community partners to identify and activate environmental projects throughout the greater LA region that will help leave a lasting community impact leading up to and after the Games.
Partnership Marketing
On behalf of LA28, USOPC, and USOPP, the Partnership Management and Activation (PMA) team acts as the steward of all contractual rights and benefits afforded to our Commercial Partners. PMA is a collective of internationally experienced, deeply passionate marketers dedicated to maintaining a keen focus across all sponsorship elements of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements in the U.S. Designed from a management consulting model, PMA strives to unlock exceptional value across our internal enterprise, as well as for each sponsor they serve.
Communications
The communications team leads storytelling for the organization, sharing LA28's remarkable journey and protecting the reputation of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. They work cross-functionally in all areas, including marketing, impact/community relations, sustainability, government relations, athletes/sport, partner management, and Games planning & delivery. Communications is responsible for developing messaging and tools, managing public announcements (including LA28/Team USA Partner activations), supporting external speaking opportunities, and collaborating with media/reporters and key stakeholders to tell the LA28 story on the road to the 2028 Games.
Digital Engagement & Marketing
The LA28 Digital Engagement and Marketing (DEM) team drives marketing and brand engagement efforts for LA28, leveraging digital platforms, social media, website management, email marketing, and content development to connect with and inspire fans. By collaborating across internal departments and engaging directly with key audiences—athletes, fans, communities, and partners—the DEM team creates compelling storytelling and promotional campaigns. Their work spans a variety of key channels, including Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, LA28.org, email, website, and advertising.
Legal
LA28’s Legal Department provides advice on all matters affecting LA28’s legal rights and obligations. This work includes support for commercial sponsorship and licensing agreements, Games venue and hotel agreements, and legal support for all LA28’s functional areas. The Athlete Fellow would be an important part of the legal team in our support of every functional unit at LA28, including matters ranging from Games venues and training sites to community/government relations and commercial relationships.
People Team: Talent & Workforce (HR)
The Talent & Workforce team at LA28 is responsible for building and scaling a world-class workforce to deliver the Olympic and Paralympic Games. We focus on workforce planning, recruitment, talent management, organizational design, and Games-time readiness, ensuring the right people are in the right roles at the right time to support seamless operations. As a temporary, high-growth organization, our work is centered on strategically planning and scaling the workforce to meet evolving needs, while ensuring we are fully prepared for Games-time operations.
Technology
The LA28 Digital Engagement and Marketing (DEM) team drives marketing and brand engagement efforts for LA28, leveraging digital platforms, social media, website management, email marketing, and content development to connect with and inspire fans. The LA28 Transportation department oversees all the planning and delivery of transportation elements of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We aim to deliver a seamless system that serves all athletes, stakeholders, spectators, and workforce, while keeping the LA region moving.
The annual base salary range for this position is $67,000.00.
