As the Lead Digital Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, execution and delivery of the whole of Frieze’s diverse digital product portfolio, ensuring or progress aligns with organisational objectives and meets stakeholder expectations.
Frieze has a large portfolio of digital products including frieze.com, thearmoryshow.com, expochigago.com, Android/iOS apps, Frieze Viewing Room online art fairs platform, digital ticketing and paywall/membership systems. Alongside other departmental leads, you will co-own and heavily influence the product roadmap and delivery of all our mission-critical products.
Your primary focus will be on coordinating project activities, managing resources effectively, and maintaining clear communication channels across all levels of the organisation. With a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset, you will guide project and product teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, while mitigating risks and optimising project outcomes.
We are looking for candidates with relevant experience in Digital Project Management, ideally including one or more of; arts, premium brand, consumer media, premium events or equivalent agency experience, with a track record in building and partnering to deliver innovative and successful digital products.
This is an exciting lead role in an incredibly important and respected central department within the wider business. The successful candidate will be one who not only has strong, proven project management skills, but who is also willing and able to be involved and influential across the whole Digital and Data department and beyond.
The candidate will join the Head of Data and Insight, and Senior Developer in reporting to the Director of Digital Technology, managing the Project team alongside the Data and Insight and Software Development teams.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
Lead a small team of project/product managers, ensuring effective delivery of all digital projects across our whole portfolio
Mentor and coach junior members of the team, providing support and encouragement to facilitate their growth and development
Create and communicate comprehensive project plans, including goals, timelines and budgets
Coordinate and lead requirements gathering meetings with business stakeholders
Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders
Help facilitate the writing and documentation of clear and detailed requirements and stories
Assign tasks, set deadlines, resolve bottlenecks and conflicts
Effectively manage project and departmental budgets
Oversee the QA process, helping to ensure delivery of stable, high-quality products and outcomes
Monitor project progress, providing status updates and reports, milestones achieved and potential risks and issues throughout the process
Help foster a strong appreciation and adherence to proven project management techniques in the department and wider business
Continually look for ways of improving the project management function, identifying opportunities for efficiencies and streamlining
Organise and facilitate daily stand-ups, manage backlogs and sprints, project planning meetings
You Will Have The Following Strengths
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and prioritise competing demands effectively
Leadership and team management skills, experience of mentoring junior team members
Extensive experience in managing digital project teams, delivering projects on time and within budget.
Preferential experience includes subscription/paywall digital products, mobile events apps, ticketing/events systems, CRM platforms, premium brands and/or media titles
Skilled and experienced in Agile and traditional project management (ideally with some recognised qualification in either or both), with an adaptable, pragmatic and collaborative attitude to work where team performance and the right outcome for the business are paramount
Experience in risk management, quality assurance, and change management processes
Strong analytical, prioritisation, and negotiating skills
A passion for quality, a deep curiosity about everything and a natural attention to every detail
A continued desire to learn and self-improve, with a keenness to share experiences
A deep interest in, and experience of, digital technology and products
Highly effective at making yourself understood and in understanding others, verbally and in writing, willing and able to discuss technical topics with non-technical colleagues, an ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels within the business
Positive and energetic, comfortable with the occasionally demanding challenges of putting together live events where time pressures are critical
