Job Description

At PrizePicks, we are the fastest-growing sports company in North America, as recognized by Inc. 5000. As the leading platform for Daily Fantasy Sports, we cover a diverse range of sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, and Esports titles like League of Legends and Counter-Strike. Our team of over 450 employees thrives in an inclusive culture that values individuals from diverse backgrounds, regardless of their level of sports fandom. Ready to reimagine the DFS industry together?

The Insights team at PrizePicks ensures leadership has a clear, current, and forward-looking view of consumer sentiment, category dynamics, and cultural forces shaping the gaming and sports betting landscape. We are looking for a Lead Researcher to own and operate our consumer intelligence and foresight program, anticipating what the market needs, where it is heading, and translating those signals into business action.

As a Lead Researcher, you will keep the company oriented to the external consumer market as it is today and as it is becoming. You will design and run the research, cultural intelligence, social and market listening, and synthesis infrastructure leadership relies on to identify risk, unlock opportunity, and make informed tradeoffs across product, brand, and growth.

You will operate as a high-impact individual contributor, personally executing work end to end from problem framing and research design through programming, fielding, analysis, and executive-ready reporting. You will act as both an analyst and a forecaster, combining rigorous quantitative measurement with deep qualitative and cultural understanding to surface emerging shifts before they appear in performance data, ensuring cultural research and intelligence are critical inputs, not supporting work.

The ideal candidate is rigorous and disciplined in mixed-method research execution, culturally attuned, and relentlessly curious about how consumers and subcultures actually behave. They are comfortable finding order in ambiguity, and think in first, second, and third order effects to connect shifts in sentiment and culture to product usage, brand perception, and business outcomes.

What you’ll do:

  • Own and personally execute an intelligence program leveraging surveys, social listening, and qualitative work to deliver high-impact insights.
  • Independently design, program, field, and QA quantitative and qualitative studies with equal rigor, spanning brand health, cultural discovery, and emerging opportunity identification.
  • Build and operate cultural and market listening programs and dashboards across media channels, defining share of voice, sentiment, category dynamics, and cultural relevance for PrizePicks and the broader industry.
  • Synthesize across inputs to deliver clear, measurable insights tied to internal performance metrics, producing recurring and ad-hoc reporting that defines what is happening, why it matters, and what leadership should do next.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Strategy, and Analytics to inform prioritization and investment decisions, recommending what to accelerate, deprioritize, or stop with clarity and confidence.
  • Continuously refine tools, methods, and processes to improve signal quality, speed, and business relevance.

What You Have

  • 7+ years of experience in market research, consumer insights, or market intelligence in a fast-moving business environment.
  • Proven experience owning and operating recurring research or intelligence programs end to end.
  • Deep mixed-method research expertise with equal strength in quantitative analysis and qualitative, cultural research, including survey methodologies, cultural trend tracking, and social intelligence. Hands-on experience with advanced tools required - Qualtrics and Quid preferred.
  • Familiarity with statistical tools and languages such as R or Python.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect external consumer and market signals to internal business metrics and outcomes.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders through clear, concise communication and sound reasoning.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires hands-on, end-to-end execution. Candidates whose recent experience is primarily advisory, managerial, or vendor-led without direct ownership of research design, programming, fielding, and analysis should not apply.

Where you’ll live:

  • While we prefer candidates based in Atlanta, we are open to qualified applicants from anywhere in the U.S. and are willing to consider remote candidates. #LI-Remote
