In the dynamic and fast-paced environment of WHOOP, the Lead UX Designer on the Growth Team is a strategic role that focuses on expanding our reach and enhancing engagement early on in a WHOOP member’s experience. Your role is not just about designing; it's about innovating quickly and revolutionizing how our users interact with our products. You'll lead the charge in conceptualizing, designing, and launching key features and tests that are vital to the growth of WHOOP.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Spearhead the design and refinement of intuitive e-commerce interfaces, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience across both web and mobile app platforms.
  • Employ a variety of design techniques, from sketches and wireframes to full-fledged mockups and prototypes, to effectively communicate your ideas to team members and stakeholders.
  • Utilize a blend of qualitative insights and quantitative data to steer design decisions, championing user needs while driving business growth.
  • Engage in rigorous A/B testing to explore innovative ideas, validate user experience patterns, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Emphasize user-centric design, ensuring that every feature not only meets business objectives but also resonates with our users, informed by direct feedback and collaborative research.
  • Act as a vital contributor to our product management team, brainstorming high-impact initiatives and planning the necessary design elements to bring these ideas to fruition.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to create a unified web component library, ensuring quality assurance for new releases and maintaining visual consistency across all platforms.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 7+ years of experience in UX and product design, specifically in responsive web design and consumer-facing e-commerce platforms.
  • Be an advocate for the user, ensuring that growth initiatives are aligned with user needs and WHOOP's core values, and grounded in a deep understanding of user motivations and behaviors.
  • Proven track record of successful collaboration with product management, visual design, and engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in design tools and methodologies, including but not limited to Figma, wireframing, workflow diagramming, and prototyping.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex design concepts early, often, clearly, and persuasively.
  • Autonomous work ethic, thriving in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
  • A compelling portfolio showcasing a range of e-commerce flows and A/B testing initiatives, highlighting your direct contributions and measurable impacts.
  • Experience in developing UI component libraries with an emphasis on accessibility is highly desirable.
  • A deep curiosity and passion for the fitness and wellness industry, translating into innovative design solutions that resonate with our target audience.

  • This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
