We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer (Contract, Part-Time) to oversee the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of cold and hot plunge pools on an as-needed basis. This role ensures that all pool systems, including heating, cooling, filtration, and sanitation, are operating efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have expertise in water chemistry, mechanical troubleshooting, and plumbing/electrical systems related to aquatic facilities.
Responsibilities:Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heating and cooling systems (chillers, heaters, heat exchangers).Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in plunge pool systems.Maintain, repair, and replace pumps, motors, and filtration systems(sand, cartridge, or DE filters).Check and ensure proper flow rates, pressure gauges, and circulation efficiency.Repair or replace valves, pipes, and fittings as necessary.Test and adjust pH levels, chlorine, bromine, and other sanitizersto meet health standards.Monitor and regulate water temperature to ensure optimal cold and hot plunge conditions.Perform shocking, backwashing, and chemical treatments to prevent bacteria and algae buildup.Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations for aquatic facilities.Clean pool surfaces, tiles, drains, and jets to prevent scaling and debris buildup.Skim, vacuum, and remove debris from pools as needed.Maintain UV sanitation, ozone, or saltwater systems (if applicable).Keep maintenance logs and report any recurring issues to management.Qualifications:Experience with pool heaters, chillers, HVAC, and refrigeration systems.Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical wiring, and mechanical repairs.Familiarity with automated pool controllers (e.g., Pentair, Hayward, Jandy).Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO).EPA HVAC Certification (for refrigeration-related repairs).Electrical or plumbing license (a plus).Minimum 2+ years of experience in pool maintenance, HVAC, or plumbing.Experience working with commercial plunge pools, spas, or hydrotherapy equipment is a plus.If you are an applicant located in California, please review our California Applicant Privacy Notice, which explains the categories of personal information that we collect and the purposes for which we use such personal information Estimated Salary Range
