SUMMARY

The Manager of Business Operations is responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the VP of Business Operations for the New York Liberty. This role will assist in the strategic and logistical operations for all events, theme nights, and special projects as determined by the VP and New York Liberty CEO. In this role, you will drive large scale process improvement projects, lead inter-departmental communication and decision-making, and manage program/project development and implementation. Our ideal candidate will have the acuity to handle sophisticated situations and multiple responsibilities, simultaneously mixing long-term projects with immediate business operation demands. The individual must also have the demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information, supervise special projects, and coordinate and direct communications, activities, employees, and facilities for our business lines.

The Manager of Business Operations will report to the Vice President of Business Operations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Project oversight: supervise strategic projects with a primary focus on initiatives that typically requires cross functional collaboration.
  • Develop presentations and supporting materials/analyses for department, WNBA and external constituents.
  • Supervise project performance and prepare detailed reports.
  • Connect with key partners to share project status and call out risks as needed to ensure visibility, ownership, and timely resolution. Identify potential timeline soft spots and develop risk mitigation techniques to minimize issues.
  • Attend meetings, capture take-aways, and work with VP to ensure internal alignment of objectives and priorities.
  • Assist in overseeing central project management software for capturing, cataloging, analyzing and disseminating key lessons and resources.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience with demonstrated leadership ability
  • Project management experience in varying business units, ideally within Ticketing, Sponsorship, Marketing and Events in the sports and entertainment industry.
  • Proven track record of engaging with partners (including senior executives), communicating insights, and problem-solving in a flexible, professional manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the organization and to advise virtual teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word applications.
  • Possess the schedule flexibility to attend New York Liberty home games at Barclays Center and additional events as needed. This position will involve working outside of standard business hours to accommodate business needs.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

May be required to travel on rare occasions (<5% travel); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.

SALARY RANGE

$65,000 - $80,000

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works primarily in an office environment but upon request will be expected to attend games and other events on evenings, weekends and holidays.
