About the role:

We’re looking for a Manager, Data Science & Analytics to develop and own Garner’s product and business analytics. In this role, you’ll manage a high-performing team of data scientists and analysts, serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, and help drive the analytics vision across the company. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how we use data to improve our products and business operations, ultimately delivering better healthcare outcomes.  This role reports to Chief Product and Data Officer, Phil Salinger.

Where you will work:

This role will be based in our New York City office. You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 

What you will do:

  • Own Garner’s business intelligence function, including defining, building, and maintaining core product and company-wide KPIs and dashboards
  • Lead and manage a 6–8 person team of data scientists and analysts. Most of these analysts who report to you will be embedded across key product areas, including Care Navigation and Payments, Claims, and Eligibility (PCE), while a couple will work in a centralized Business Analytics area that you lead. 
  • Strategic leadership and thought partnership with the C-suite by synthesizing Garner’s KPIs and associated analytics to inform key decisions 
  • Run Garner-wide Data Science & Analytics Guild. Own standards, best practices, data science community
  • Bring a consulting-style approach to structuring problems, generating insights, and recommending action

What you will bring to the team:

  • 8+ years working in data-focused roles including product research, business analytics, or data science
  • At least 2+ years managing technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and partner cross-functionally with Product and Executive stakeholders
  • Hands-on analytical skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment - you’re willing to roll up your sleeves and lead by example
  • Proven track record of helping cross-functional teams identify and prioritize research opportunities that will deliver high-quality data-driven insights 
  • Deep experience in business intelligence, product analytics, and applied data science; familiarity and comfort with basic machine learning methods
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex data into compelling, business-critical insights
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced startup environments, with a hands-on approach and a strong commitment to organizational success
  • A desire to be a part of our mission to improve the U.S. healthcare system

Compensation Transparency:

The target salary range for this position is $196,000-$228,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans, including but not limited to: flexible PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision plan options, 401(k), Teladoc Health and more.
