About the Position

Golden State Valkyries are looking for a Manager, Design to work within the team’s Marketing team to produce all graphic design elements used across all platforms. In this role, you will contribute to the creative process, gain valuable experience and play an integral role in developing first class designs for the organization. We need a self-starter to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

We need someone who is a creative marketing force to leverage marketing communications, storytelling and innovation to contribute to the creative team. This position reports to the Director, Content & Social Media.

This is a full-time position based onsite in Oakland, CA with time spent in San Francisco for game days.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and produce a wide variety of cross-platform creative deliverables for various internal and external clients
• Work with Marketing on full scale campaigns and evolve visual brand identity
• Develop and/or assist on multiple design projects at any given time and execute according to established timelines
• Lead design of creative projects
• Prioritize and track projects through creative process/project management tools
• Understand the needs of requestors, follow direction, and respond positively to feedback
• Apply basic motion techniques to static design to create animated assets
• Provide assistance with production (set up files, file archiving, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Graphic Design, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 3 years of visual design experience at an ad agency, design firm, or within an internal creative team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects)
• Familiarity with both print and digital design executions
• Photography and illustration skills are a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, attention to detail and resolution skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with clients and peers
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects and media scheduling in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to provide a demo reel or portfolio of creative work samples

Time Commitment

• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule as evenings and weekend work shifts may be required

Compensation

• $35.00 - 37.00 per hour + Bonus
