Manager, Fleet Operations:

LA28’s Manager, Vehicle Fleet Operations Support will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of the fleet vehicles that contribute to operational readiness and Games-time delivery for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This role supports fleet operations by translating operational requirements into coordinated plans, processes, tools, and readiness activities across the fleet lifecycle. 

Working within the Transportation Functional Area and the Fleet Operations sub-function, this role will coordinate planning and delivery efforts that span fleet operations, system enablement, depot and staging environments, dispatch integration, and readiness activities. The role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to define operational requirements and develop vehicle delivery and deployment schedules. 

The role serves as a primary interface between fleet operations and LA28-wide systems, ensuring fleet requirements are embedded into enterprise platforms, operational planning, and Games-time execution is responsible for the end-to-end management of the fleet vehicle program. 

The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and solutions-oriented, capable of operating with autonomy while maintaining alignment with broader fleet programs and priorities. The Manager, Fleet Operations will report to the Director, Vehicle Fleet Operations Director and work closely with leaders across LA28’s Functional Areas. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities and support processes related to the Fleet Management System, ensuring accurate data, system use, and alignment with operational needs. 
  • Support and coordinate vehicle delivery, allocation, return, and handover activities in line with fleet schedules, operational requirements, and partner arrangements. 
  • Provide operational support for fleet services including insurance administration, fines management, maintenance coordination, and issue resolution, escalating matters as required. 
  • In coordination with the relevant LA28 stakeholders manage and support the demand analysis and vehicle fleet requirements estimations for the Games Vehicle systems.   
  • Support the planning, development, and execution of fleet vehicle operations, ensuring alignment with defined readiness milestones, operational requirements, and cross-functional priorities. 
  • Coordinate fleet planning and readiness activities across operations, depots, dispatch interfaces, and supporting systems. 
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, and interdependenciesmaintaining structured accountability, progress tracking, and issue resolution. 
  • Work collaboratively across intra-fleet subfunctions and partner Functional Areasincluding Fleet Operations, Depot Operations, Dispatch, Workforce, Accessibility, Technology, Security, Accreditation, Venue Management, Communications, and C3/Readinessto support integrated fleet outcomes. 
  • Support the development and implementation of fleet operational frameworks, workflows, tools, policy and procedure documentation, and training materials. 
  • Identify, analyze, and escalate operational risks, gaps, and constraints, and contribute analysis and reporting to inform leadership decision-making and readiness assessments. 
  • Represent the Fleet Operations subfunction in planning forums, readiness reviews, site visits, operational tests, and engagements with vendors and delivery partners, supporting alignment, validation, and Games-time preparedness. 

Background & Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in fleet operations, transportation systems, logistics operations, mobility technology, or major event delivery; or 7+ years of specialized experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience delivering or managing operational systems that support fleet, depot, dispatch, or logistics functions. 
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects involving multiple internal teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational requirements, system outputs, and performance data. 
  • Experience working with fleet management systems, dispatch platforms, telematics, maintenance systems, or operational dashboards. 

Expectations:

  • Operationally grounded with strong systems-thinking and attention to detail. 
  • Able to operate autonomously while maintaining alignment with Fleet and Transport leadership priorities. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate operational needs into system requirements and vice versa. 
  • Proactive in identifying risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities within Fleet systems and workflows

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management, Transportation Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration/Management, or related field. Alternatively, 7+ years of specialized experience. 
  • Master’s degree may substitute for up to two years of experience. 
  • Training or coursework in transportation operations, project management, logistics planning, or data analysis is beneficial. 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • The position is located in Los Angeles with in-person attendance required. 
  • Frequent travel in Los Angeles between, venues and other sites. Must be responsible for own travel by any mode. 
  • The LA28 office is an open floor plan working environment. Employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.   
  • There will be a requirement for working hours outside of traditional business hours/days to support special events, travel, and the 2028 Games. 

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $115,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
