The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Medical Operations Manager:
The Medical Operations Manager will play a pivotal supporting role Logistics and Services (GLS) team at LA28, working under the direction of the Head of Medical Operations. This individual will assist in the day-to-day operational planning and coordination required to support the delivery of medical services across all Games venues. The Manager will work closely with internal teams and external partners, including medical advisors, government agencies, and key stakeholders, to help execute critical initiatives in medical logistics, workforce planning, and operational readiness.
This role requires strong project coordination, organizational, and communication skills, and a proactive mindset to ensure high-quality support of all medical operations for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Planning Support
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational plans for medical services across competition and non-competition venues.
- Support documentation of requirements for medical services by venue and stakeholder group.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of the Polyclinic delivery model and village medical services.
- Help track the development of public health education and hygiene promotion efforts.
- Coordinate planning sessions and working groups with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Medical Logistics & Delivery Coordination
- Support execution of medical service delivery, including logistics for supplies, staffing, and infrastructure.
- Assist in organizing emergency medical planning and delivery protocols.
- Contribute to the documentation and dissemination of medical policies, procedures, guides, and manuals.
- Participate in planning and coordinating test events and medical scenario training exercises.
Workforce and Training Support
- Help develop and implement the medical workforce plan including documentation, certification, and training logistics for staff and volunteers.
- Liaise with LA28 People Management Team, volunteer services, and training partners to maintain accurate records and facilitate program execution.
Cross-Functional and Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as a liaison between the Medical Operations team and other LA28 departments such as Venue Management, Security, Technology, and Logistics.
- Attend cross-functional meetings, take notes, track action items, and ensure timely follow-up.
- Support collaboration with public and private medical stakeholders to align operational activities with local and federal regulations.
Administrative and Budgetary Support
- Assist in tracking medical functional area budgets.
- Support procurement processes related to medical equipment, supplies, and contractor services.
- Maintain and update documentation, schedules, and dashboards to monitor progress across initiatives.
Background & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in sports operations, event operations, project coordination, or related roles; experience with large-scale sporting events preferred.
- Familiarity with medical delivery in high-performance, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing timelines, documentation, and deliverables.
- Prior involvement with Olympic, Paralympic, or other elite international sporting events is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, or MS Project) a plus.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Expectation to be in LA28 offices in Los Angeles 4x/week (1x/week hybrid)
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Sports Administration, Event-Management, or related field preferred.
Expectations:
Medical Operational Planning Expertise
- General understanding of medical service delivery in the context of major events.
- Ability to contribute to planning processes, logistical workflows, and policy documentation.
- Experience working with healthcare providers, vendors, or medical personnel in support or coordination roles.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to liaise effectively with internal teams and external medical, governmental, and community partners.
- Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders, including medical professionals, event organizers, and public health officials.
- Capable of producing clear written documentation and professional correspondence.
Organizational Skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to track and support multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues or seek input. ]
Submission Requirements:
The annual base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $105,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
