We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Accounting to oversee all transactional accounting activities for Skillz in the areas of revenue, cost of revenue, accounts payable, procurement, payroll/wages, wage-related expenses/accruals, and their related internal controls. In this role you'll manage a small team while reporting to Hadas Bram-Mostyn - our Director of Corporate Accounting. To be successful in this role you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience with full-charge ownership/supervision of accounts payable, payroll, share-based compensation, and preparation of monthly journal entries (accruals), demonstrated by a step-by-step close process for accounts payable/procurement and payroll.
Minimum 4+ years of experience as a manager within an Accounting function, preferably in a mid-cap ($200 million to $500 million annual revenue) or larger company.
Minimum of 7+ years of relevant operational accounting experience with a mixture of experience in different industries (gaming experience is a plus, but not required).
Minimum of 5+ years working with external and/or internal auditors (knowing when to push back on auditors when needed, for instance - volume of audit samples).
CPA preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of NetSuite or other comparable general ledger systems.
Public accounting experience and/or knowledge of sales and use tax is a plus.
Starting Total Compensation: 145,000 (Base + Bonus + Equity)
