THE ROLE
AG1 is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Manager, Procurement to join our growing global Supply Chain team. This role will play a pivotal role in performing strategic evaluations, assessments, and optimization within specific product categories for the AG1 product portfolio to ensure maximum operational efficiency and profitability.
You will do this by executing against strategic range rationalization processes, facilitating competitive sourcing methods including bids auctions, driving contract negotiations on a global scale, securing competitive pricing and favorable terms, and performing ongoing analysis of performance and cost. This role is centered around optimizing cost-savings while maintaining exceptional quality standards for our diverse range of ingredients. You will be responsible for a specific category and will work closely with AG1’s Category Insights & Development team.
This role is 100% remote and must be based in Ireland full-time.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Strategic Sourcing
- Execute sourcing strategies that align with business objectives, emphasizing cost-efficiency without compromising quality
- Category Tenders: Develop and execute category tender initiatives by crafting comprehensive Request for Proposals (RFPs) or Invitations to Tender (ITTs), overseeing supplier selection processes, and negotiating contracts to secure goods or services within specified categories while ensuring compliance and maximizing value for the organization.
- Auctions: Manage and conduct competitive e-auction processes, including reverse auctions or dynamic bidding platforms, to drive cost savings, promote supplier competition, and secure the best pricing for standard or commoditized goods, while maintaining quality standards and adherence to procurement policies.
- Bids: Coordinate the bid management process by issuing and evaluating requests for quotations (RFQs), requests for information (RFIs), or other bid requests, facilitating supplier submissions, and conducting comprehensive evaluations to select the most suitable suppliers based on predefined criteria encompassing quality, pricing, and technical specifications.
- Ensure that the range rationalization process contributes to cost efficiency by reducing unnecessary inventory, avoiding overstocking of low-demand items, and optimizing purchasing processes.
Contract Management & Negotiation
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers securing the most advantageous pricing and payment terms
- Conduct regular price reviews in accordance with contractual agreements and re-negotiate to ensure favorable terms and maintain cost-effectiveness in procurement processes
Cost & Data Analysis
- Partner with the Category Insights & SRM team to ensure accurate reporting on actual volumes/prices and variances vs. budgets in conjunction with the FP&A teams
- Employ value engineering methodologies to optimize cost efficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives in the sourcing process, ensuring the acquisition of high-quality ingredients while maintaining a competitive edge in the market
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 5-8 years of procurement and strategic sourcing within the consumer goods or health and wellness industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships on a global scale.
- Proficiency in utilizing game theory principles and reverse auctioning methods to drive cost savings.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to manage multiple work streams at once.
- Strong interpersonal, written communication, and organizational skills.

AG1 is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation & benefits packages. For this particular role, the base salary range is €72,000 - €94,000 and will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate’s level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role. Base salary is one component of total compensation for this position. We provide a competitive mix of base salary, performance bonus, and stock option allocation for eligible roles.
