About the Role:

*OUR HEADQUARTERS IS LOCATED IN NEW YORK CITY, BUT THIS ROLE IS BASED IN DENVER, CO*

Fubo is looking for a Streaming Media Operations Support Engineering Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for leading the monitoring and break fix of Fubo’s managed video infrastructure. The Streaming Support Manager will be responsible for a team of Engineers in the US and India working in a 24x7 environment. 

What you’ll do:

  • Operations Support for Fubo’s Linear ABR video environment in the US, Canada, and international markets
  • Ensure our acquisition, encoding and packaging infrastructure is always in a healthy state
  • Monitor and maintain the health of Fubo’s ad signals via alerts, trending, and analysis 
  • Manage live and exclusive content events 
  • Provide break/fix activities and drive issues to resolution 
  • Perform analysis and incident RCAs
  • Work with internal/external teams to mitigate and resolve any issues related to video infrastructure
  • Coordinate routine maintenance (includes overnight maintenance window support)
  • Define process and procedure (SOPs/MOPs) and author special-event Support Playbook
  • Participate as an on-call escalation resource
  • Responsible for driving metrics and reporting for overall operations both quantitative and qualitatively. In coordination with internal stakeholders, define KPIs aimed at reducing MTTR, and increasing overall service availability and uptime to customers
  • Identify and collaborate on tool/monitoring improvements for team across internal stakeholders
  • Regularly engage with content and transport providers to review performance, maintenance, and event coordination 
  • Support team and business needs as required
  • Work across teams to support channel lifecycle activities

Minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Strong engineering and communication skills 
  • Analytical thinker who takes initiative to identify and removes roadblocks
  • 2+ years of managing operations or support teams
  • 5+ years of working in 24x7 operations/support maintaining and troubleshooting video delivery or video delivery applications 
  • Able to work in a shifted 24x7 operations environment
  • 3+ years working with various ABR protocols such as HLS and DASH
  • Experience working with video and audio codecs such as AVC, HEVC, AAC, E-AC3
  • Understanding of various multimedia transport protocols such as: SRT, Zixi, UDP, RTP, RTMP
  • Experience with SCTE-104 and SCTE-35 ad messaging 
  • Knowledge of SSAI & CSAI ad workflows
  • Familiarity with different CDN vendors and their systems (e.g. Akamai, Fastly, Level3, etc.)
  • Familiarity with enterprise MPEG Analysis and monitoring tools, such as Telestream, Ineoquest, Triveni, Elecard, TAG, etc
  • Experience creating, defining, and authoring metrics and reporting dashboards
  • Experience with alternate content in an ABR ecosystem (ESAM, ESNI/SCTE-224)
  • Understanding of backbone video and distribution (Peering, Transport, POP sites, etc)
  • Knowledge of monitoring protocols such as SNMP a plus
  • Familiarity with DRM and content encryption, including 3rd-party integrations
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university; or equivalent training, education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in scripting and developing automation using languages such as Python or Ruby 
  • Familiarity with cloud deployments (Docker, AWS EC2/ECS, Google Cloud Compute/Storage)
  • 5+ years troubleshooting ABR video workflows in an MVPD environment

Fubo’s minimum base pay for this role if hired in Colorado is $180,000 per year; maximum base salary for this role is $205,000 per year. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Fubo's equity plan, annual cash bonus plans, unlimited PTO and a full range of medical benefits. Final offer amount will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, location and other business considerations.
