Art Leads at Riot oversee the quality and management of their discipline on a team. Your scope of responsibilities include overall culture and performance of your team, growth of your direct reports, upholding the craft style and quality bar of your discipline, and leading your team on successful execution of your team’s goals.

As Manager, VFX Art for Characters on VALORANT, you are responsible for the visual effects for Agents, ensuring their cohesion in style and quality supports Characters’ art direction. You will partner closely with Character discipline team leadership to ensure your VFX team delivers iconic, creative, and resonant VFX that supports Agents’ competitive gameplay for players. You will report into the Character Art Director

Responsibilities

• Actively collaborate with art, product, and design leads to create and support the visual identity for Agents from exploration through to final production
• Lead and manage a high performing, healthy, and collaborative VFX team
• Work with production to ensure your team’s timely and successful delivery of in-game VFX through both your internal team and outsourcing partners
• Maintain and contribute to artifacts that inform, align, and empower teams to successfully create character VFX in the VALORANT style

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience leading VFX teams in game development
• Has shipped at least 1 video game title

Desired Qualifications

• Professional experience developing or shipping at least 1 First Person Shooter title
• Professional experience working in Unreal
• Deep knowledge of the VALORANT IP
