The Materials Sourcing Associate plays a key role in building and maintaining NOBULL’s material library and supporting the process of evaluating new materials for manufacturing viability. Working cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendor partners, this role collaborates with Sourcing, Design, Development, Quality Assurance, and Engineering to identify new and innovative materials to be used in NOBULL’s apparel and footwear.
Responsibilities:Update and organize NOBULL’s physical and digital material librariesCollaborate with Design and Development Teams, acting as the go-to expert for new and existing materialsExpand NOBULL’s material library by sourcing both new and innovative materials, as well as alternatives to existing materialsBuild and maintain genuine internal and external relationshipsUnderstand material properties and how they contribute to desired performance qualitiesCoordinate and communicate with external vendors in order to obtain material samples and informationAttend material trade shows to discover new materials for future productsParticipate in evening or early morning calls with our development team in China and factory partners, as needed~5% - 20% regional and international travelAll other duties as assigned by the Sourcing Manager and/or leadership teamRequirements: Previous vendor management experience1+ years of product development, production, and/or sourcing experience in footwear or apparel preferredValid passport or ability to apply for oneAbility to follow strict protocols and SOPsStrong interpersonal and communication skills in the English language; business proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese, and/or Vietnamese is a huge plusTechnology savvy with proficiency in Apple products, Microsoft Office, and PLM softwareRelentless attention to detail with exceptional organizational skillsAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and move between them quicklyFlexible, embraces change, and excels in a fast-paced environmentProactive and positive mindset, ready to seek answers with minimal direction at timesCritical thinking and the ability to consider a project/problem from multiple viewpointsIf you are an applicant located in California, please review our California Applicant Privacy Notice, which explains the categories of personal information that we collect and the purposes for which we use such personal information
