The Job

Medical and Scientific credibility is the foundation. It’s the core of who and what Flo is. 

As a group, these teams engage thought leaders and KOLs (100+ and counting!), establish research partnerships (Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Northwestern University, and others), help Developers design our intuitive AI tools, check our Medical Accuracy, and drive medical credibility across the whole platform.

This Medical Accuracy team is an experienced and highly driven team of 5 doctors. Owing to an increase in volume of marketing-related work, we’re now on the look out for a creative Medical Advisor who enjoys marketing and the opportunity to promote health to millions of women and people who menstruate worldwide.

The position specifically supports Flo’s marketing activities, as well as advising and reviewing Flo’s medical content and app features.

The role is varied, but has a firm leaning to marketing and content. 70% of the time you can expect to be guiding, creating and reviewing marketing content (working with in-house marketing and content teams). The other 30% will be in working with the medical team and other content producing departments at Flo, and inputting into tech Product and Engineering teams as they create new features.

Your Experience

Must have:

  • Medical degree - Experienced GP or OB-GYN with significant training (UK ST5+)
  • Deep understanding of general medicine, anatomy, and physiology of the female reproductive system, OB-GYN and pediatrics
  • Previous experience working for a B2C or D2C commercial company in a position responsible for the review of medical materials going to a lay audience 
  • Advanced English (C2 - written and spoken)

Nice to have:

  • Experience in working for a tech company
  • Experience in marketing
  • Experience in the product development process for D2C software or consumer apps
  • Experience in health journalism and/or medical writing (patient materials)

What you'll be doing

You'll be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the marketing department, content leads and editors to provide medical guidance on strong content ideas that resonate with Flo’s users
  • Representing Flo and providing medical expertise for brand- and PR-related activities
  • Medically reviewing English articles, videos, courses and other types of content on women’s health-related topics
  • Working closely with members of Flo’s Expert Board to peer-review content created
  • Collaborating with the data scientists, content managers and analysts to develop AI-based features, including chatbots and predictive tools
  • Ensuring the overall medical accuracy and compliance of Flo’s mobile application

Your targets will be:

  • Work together with the Creative Studio (a team of designers, writers and marketeers) to bring medical research on topics and new ideas, in order to help produce medically accurate and appealing user-facing adverts and social media posts
  • Review Flo’s adverts and social media posts, liaising closely with the other in-house doctors, to prevent spreading health misinformation online
  • Be responsible for auditing the medical accuracy of marketing activities and working on ideas to help maintain and improve this
  • Support with the review of articles and other in-app features

Salary Range:

Lithuania - Starting from €4166 gross per month.
UK - Starting from £65,000 per year.

Ranges may vary depending on your skills, competencies and experience.
