Job Description

Position Summary:

The NBA’s international offices work to carry out the league’s strategy of growing the game of basketball globally by hosting NBA events around the world, creating sponsorship opportunities for local businesses, developing merchandising strategies with regional licensees, selling international TV packages, and overseeing international public and media relations. Based in London, this role will assist the Global Partnerships Group with the day-to-day management of the European licensing business, including various NBA Store marketing and business development tasks and general group operational and administrative deliverables.

Major Responsibilities:

Management and support of selected local EME apparel licensees, including product approvals, reporting, events, logistics, brand protection, contract renewals, etc.

Support across global apparel licensees with rights in EME, including product approvals, events, contract renewals, business reviews, social media, financial reporting, etc.

Day-to-day account management of NBA Stores online and physically in EME, including brand protection, social media, events, financial reporting, etc.

Development and execution of marketing / PR plans (including deployment of NBA brand messaging, sweepstakes competitions, product placement, media campaigns & analytics across social and web) for NBA apparel and store partners

Work with non-apparel team on crossover projects, Licensing events and trade shows, internal processes, etc.

Administrative responsibilities for the Partnerships team, including deal management and reporting software, billing, legal processes, upkeep of sales trackers, pipeline documents, etc.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

Ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines and projects
Strong communication, presentation, organization, and negotiation skills
Ability to research economic factors and translate these into licensing business opportunities
Excellent computer skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator
Team player, self-motivated and goal-oriented
Business level proficiency in English required, additional languages a plus

Experience Needed:

Minimum of 1 year of work experience in the merchandising, licensing, or comparable industry.

Sports industry experience is a plus but not required.

Experience working with corporate partners, delivering on contractual obligations, and providing exceptional client/partner experience.

Educational Background Required:

Bachelor’s degree
