We are looking for a Network Architect who will provide global thought leadership for Data Center, WAN, and Enterprise Networking. This role is responsible for the design and deployment of network technologies across multiple customer-facing applications and internal business functions. The Network Architect ensures best practices, security, and compliance throughout global network deployments.
We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require 5 days in the office each week.
- Design and develop enterprise network architecture across Data Center, WAN, and Enterprise Networking environments.
- Define scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Lead architecture planning for network growth, modernization, and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate the impact of new projects, applications, and releases on network architecture and performance.
- Develop architecture standards, design guidelines, and best practices for enterprise and data center networking.
- Analyze network performance, capacity, and traffic trends to identify architectural improvements and optimization opportunities.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging networking technologies and strategic platform enhancements.
- Lead technology assessments, proof-of-concept activities, and product evaluations.
- Create and maintain architecture documentation, including high-level designs, standards, diagrams, and implementation plans.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for enterprise-wide network initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, security, and business teams to deliver scalable and resilient network solutions.
- Support complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical network-related issues when architectural expertise is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business, or related field AND a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience in enterprise network architecture, including defining and delivering large-scale designs for Data Center, WAN, campus, and wireless environments.
- Demonstrated experience designing scalable, resilient, and secure network architectures supporting global enterprise requirements.
- Strong expertise in data center architecture, including Cisco Nexus (NX-OS), and modern designs such as leaf-spine, VXLAN/EVPN, and Cisco ACI.
- Strong experience architecting enterprise campus and wireless networks, including Cisco Catalyst (IOS-XE), Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC), and RF design principles..
- Solid understanding of enterprise routing and switching architecture, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLAN design, STP, and high-availability design principles.
- Experience defining network architecture standards, reference architectures, and technical design guidelines across enterprise environments.
- Experience leading technology evaluation, proof-of-concept initiatives, and strategic platform selection for enterprise networking solutions.
- Strong background in capacity planning, scalability analysis, and translating business growth requirements into network architecture roadmaps.
- Experience integrating network architecture with security and identity frameworks, including segmentation, ACL strategy, VPN design (IPSec), and Cisco ISE concepts.
- Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into end-to-end network architecture solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead architectural discussions across engineering, operations, security, and business stakeholders.
- Strong experience producing high-level and detailed architecture documentation, including design standards, diagrams, and implementation guidance.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while balancing strategic architecture work, modernization initiatives, and multiple concurrent programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative and cost-effective architectural solutions.
