The Director, New Business Development role for Nielsen Sports will be responsible for new client acquisition across rights holders and properties within the US sports landscape.    

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Meet individual sales quotas, manage progress throughout the year against goals, and be accountable for individual sales performance.
Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer portfolio while also meeting/ exceeding short and long-term goals and objectives.
Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Successfully identify and solve client issues through strategic, out-of-the-box thinking.
Foster and maintain influential industry relationships with key decision-makers to promote the company profile and reputation as a trusted advisor.
Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, and Operations teams to implement and deliver successful client outcomes across business functions within Nielsen Sports and externally
Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement.
Provide market feedback to company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs, and new product development ideas
Represent Nielsen Sports, Esports & Entertainment at conferences, meetings, networking events, and other marketing initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 5 years of sales experience in a new business development role; industry-applicable experience a must
Proven track record of reaching and exceeding  financial targets
Proven sales executive experience, meeting and/or exceeding individual and team revenue targets against assigned territory, sector, and/or accounts 
Experience in selling market research-focused products and integrated sponsorship solutions
Proven ability to drive the sales process from lead generation to close independently 
Keen ability to articulate the distinct aspects of our products and solutions in a consultative manner 
Ability to communicate, present, and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level 
Industry-specific knowledge of trends and behaviors across the sports, esports, and gaming landscapes, specifically as it relates to the sponsorship lifecycle for buyers and sellers
Bachelor's degree preferably in Marketing, Business, Market Research, or a related field
5-8+  years of experience within the sports marketing, media, or research industry
Effective organizational skills providing the ability to identify priorities and meet all deadlines assigned
Customer-centric work experience with the ability to establish and maintain customer relationships
Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail
Ability to independently analyze data, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations and insights
Self-starter with excellent initiative and communication skills
Proficient in the Microsoft Suite of products, specifically Excel (pivot tables, functions, formulas, charts, graphs) and PowerPoint and Google Suite products

A reasonable estimate of the annual salary for a new employee to be offered this role would be a $90,000-95,000 base salary, which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location.  The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
