We are looking for an Online Game Programmer to join the Hunt: Showdown team in our new state-of-the-art office in Frankfurt, Germany.
As an Online Game Programmer, you will be responsible for the development and enhancement of online-backend systems used across a variety of Crytek games. The ideal candidate has experience with online services from the perspective of real-time game applications, working with and architecting scalable online systems. The position involves working with cross-disciplinary groups, including interactions with game design and game programming teams.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and support a set of reliable and high-performance online services and help integrate them into the company’s products. Work with the existing online technologies and game codebase.Provide improvements to modules with scalability and robustness in mind. Debug and optimize any module of the backend system. Collaborate with game designers, developers and QA to ensure smooth, secure and scalable online experience.Participate in the recruiting process for your team. Create accurate task duration estimates and complete all work on a timely basis. Actively participate in the team working on a project by making recommendations on how to improve the product’s quality as well as the group’s productivity. Contribute to the documentation and (automated) testing procedures. Requirements3+ years of professional work experience as an Online or Backend Programmer.Bachelor's degree or organized training certificate in computer science or related field. Strong programming skills in "Go"Database programming experience (SQL and/or NoSQL). Debugging & optimization skills. Basic understanding of network protocols, client-server architectures and data encryption.Understanding of multithreading and other concurrency concepts. Programming & trouble-shooting experience in Linux-like environments. Willingness to accept direction, work well under pressure, and handle multiple tasks. Team player and self-driven.
