The Role:

We are looking for dynamic, empathetic, and action-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our exciting Finance team. 

As part of the growing Hazel Finance Team, you will be responsible for the processing and management of all aspects of the payroll process for 4+ legal entities across 25+ States for over 500 employees. This important role requires broad payroll experience in a scaling environment. This role will report to the Controller.

Location: Remote

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide accurate payroll information and proactively communicate to all employees on payroll related items.
  • Manage electronic timekeeping systems and review for payroll processing
  • Bi-weekly payroll processing including calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, time tax withholdings and deductions. 
  • Process verification of employment wage requests, W-2 distribution, maintain employee demographics and manage paid time off accruals.
  • Work with federal, state and local agencies to set up and maintain tax and wage reporting accounts; ensure filings are accurate and timely; response to correspondence.
  • Manage workers compensation accounts and collaborate with the People team regarding claims. 
  • Respond to payroll audit requests.
  • Collaborate with the People and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Assist with HRIS management.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to payroll.
  • Proactively tracks laws and regulations that may impact Hazel’s policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of broad payroll experience, including mandated reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, finance or related field.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification or Certified Payroll Professional a plus.

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, with a base salary range of $80,000 - $95,000, a 401k match, healthcare coverage, paid time off, and a broad range of other benefits and perks. Review our benefits at Hazel Health Benefits.
